“Little Red Rooster.- Its where the locals eat.”
Reviewed June 2, 2013

The restaurant is located beside Tim Hortons on Mary st at Mississauga st.
There is lots of parking and plenty of seating inside.
Everyone of the staff makes you feel valued and well looked after. The food is good and the prices are reasonable, specially since you are in Niagara-on-the-Lake where restaurants are like hotels pricey. The staff seem to know all the customers that come in as the locals who know good value in N-O-T-L eat there often. We ate there twice first for dinner and then for breakfast. Dinner was around $35 for two and $20 for breakfast for two, and we were very full. They filled our coffee cups often.

Their homemade rice pudding was really good.

“dinner in the Rooster”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

We stayed across the road in Colonel Butler hotel and this place was suggested by Kim in reception. A great tip. Fantastic value for money and good food. $12 for a magnificent homemade soup and a 2 chicken breast meal - would you rather have a Mc Donalds!!! Michelle was our waitress and was a delight as was the owner, good tips on the area.

“LOW QUALITY FOOD”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

I had read good reviews for this restaurant so we decided to try it. Too bad I hadn't read the one here about the burger special w/the bacon, cheese and mushrooms. Wow, the meat was very poor quality. We asked for the fries to be upgraded to poutine. We felt the $1.50 charge was worth it but boy what a mistake! The gravy was so fake and sooo salty. It was just slathered on and we could barely eat the fries. The coleslaw was AWFUL! It was like the kind we get from a bag and it was dry, no dressing, and had a very bad after taste. I asked for vinegar, but that didn't help it any. The onion rings were pretty good but very very tough. Definitely NOT worth the 6.50$. On a positive note, the staff was pleasant and very friendly and on the whole the restaurant and washrooms were pretty clean. Although not the cleanest as there was dust all along the wooden bar where the roosters separated the booths in the centre of the restaurant.
We will most likely not go again. Not worth the money they charge for the quality of the food. My daughter actually said she would've preferred McDonald's!

“Top notch breakfast!”
Reviewed May 20, 2013

It is very difficult to find all day breakfast in NOTL. We ended up eating breakfast at the Little Red Rooster twice on a 3 day trip to NOTL! One day, we had the late breakfast (at 2:30 pm). Great, friendly service. Basic eggs and toast plus the most delicious breakfast sausage I've ever eaten. The second day, Sunday, our server from the day before remembered us and made us feel extra welcome. Our timing was perfect because we just beat the after-church crowd of seniors. We had the Colossal - a little more elaborate breakfast with more of the yummy sausage plus some pancakes. Portions are large - I took half home from that Colossal. Very reasonably priced. We will definitely be back!!

“Friendly and Reasonable”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

The restaurant has a friendly atmosphere, the evening meal is fantastic, the portions of the meals are big, and a very reasonable price. Each time we go to Niagara-on-the-lake we go there for super all the time.
