I have read some of the negative reviews and I can't comment on the standard rooms, but we visited over a year now for a mini honeymoon and while we had booked a standard, because it wasn't too busy, they nicely upgraded us for free to the Elizabeth suite. It was a lovely, spacious suite with a sitting area with fireplace, bar area, and huge king sized bed. I agree that the rooms are on the dated side (we also saw a standard room shortly after when visiting for the day for a wedding), and the bathrooms could be updated, but overall we were very happy with our stay. Unfortunately we forgot our bathing suits so we didn't get to use the pools but both of them and the spa area looked great. We hope to come back soon. We ate in the Cannery for dinner and thought it was excellent. Being a vegetarian, I was pleasantly surprised that they were able to make something to accommodate me that was also delicious, as the menu at first glance seems very meat-heavy. P&P is a beautiful hotel and we do hope to come back.

Room Tip: Suites are very nice.

My wife and I were married at the Pillar and Post August 10, 2013. We had an unbelievably good time, the staff was amazing, the service impeccable and the atmosphere unparalleled.

We had our rehearsal dinner in the Jade Room at the Queen’s Landing and the food and scenery were amazing. The staff went out of their way to congratulate us, give us flowers and ensure that all areas of the facility were available for photo opportunities. The chef even custom made a dessert for us. We requested an ice cream cake and it was executed perfectly!

The wedding day also went by without a snag. The staff was on point all day and all our guest’s needs were addressed promptly. The food was amazing and the late night poutine station was awesome. The Sunday morning brunch was also a nice touch to end the weekend. The food was delicious and the Old Library was a great room to host the brunch in.

We had an amazing event planner, Sandra, Sir, who was with us every step of the way from booking the venue, planning the day and finally ensuring everything went as planned. She was a hugely valuable asset and our wedding was wonderful because of her!

The pool, hot spring, sauna, massages, spa and food were all impeccable. The scenery was beautiful and overall, the Pillar and Post was an amazing venue to host our wedding.

Huge thank you to all the staff who made our wedding a day to remember. Can’t wait for our anniversary, see you folks next year!

Very expensive for ordinary room; too crowded. Charged us a resort fee and the pool was so packed so we couldn't even find a place to sit. very limited parking. good service staff was very friendly and helpful. Room clean; bath recently updated but room decor out of the 1960s

Room Tip: Do not get an oversized room. It's not worth it.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your recent stay with us. We appreciate your comments and apologize for the experience you had during your stay. It is certainly not our intention to give such a poor impression of our hotel and we are so sorry that you were made to feel this way. We sincerely apologize that the pool area was so crowded, being the only hotel in Niagara on the Lake with a pool, can somewhat maximize that area and it can seem very crowded, for this we are very sorry. As for the decor, the Pillar and Post is known for its charm however, we are currently working on the appearance of the hotel and making several changes to be more appealing and better functioning for all of our guests. We very much appreciate all of your comments, we hope you consider staying with us again the next time you are in town so we might show you the quality hospitality you expect and deserve.

August 13&14th getaway from Montreal offered R&R great room accommodations fantastic breakfast and we were greeted with countless smiles and helpful info to complete our stay. The Winery tours that were suggested by front desk were bang on. Shuttle service from hotel was always at your service. Swimming pool and hot tubs fantastic.

Resort is smaller and tucked away from the downtown tourist area. Lots to do if you want but for us the pool and spa and hot springs were all we wanted and enjoyed all if them. Fabulous dining experience at the Cannery with our lovely server Ashley and her menu suggestions were spot on. Absolute must is the sample trio of prawns, lobster soufflé and crab cake. Breakfast buffet above average with made to order Omelette Bar. Lunch by the pool was a delicious wrap and bar service right at your lounge chair. The Spa was truly amazing and the services and treatments offered were numerous. Jody provided a wonderful scalp massage and her reflexology treatment had me both relaxed and revitalized. Next I was pampered with a classic manicure by Yvonne. This lovely lady was like a skilled musician. She knew what she was doing and did it well. Overall a very friendly homey atmosphere and we look forward to our next stay.

The staff was all incredibly friendly, from the front desk, to cleaning, to restaurant servers. The atmosphere is very nice, but I have to say that for the price that you pay to stay here, the food & the rooms should be a whole lot better. Our queen bed deluxe room was nothing special, & the bed actually wasn't very comfortable!

Before we arrived, we had ordered theatre tickets. The staff was most helpful in getting us the shows we wanted. Our suite was lovely and very comfortable. The staff made us feel very welcome and were most helpful. They were well educated in all of the restaurants in the area as well as finding interesting things to do in the area. The two young men who drove the shuttle were wonderful and very prompt in getting us to restaurants, the theatre and getting us back. They even took us to an after hour place and security came and picked us up.
