We stopped for a mid afternoon snack at Prince of Wales. The Restaurant itself was closed at this time, so we had snack in the "bar" (I do not remember the exact name). The tea room was open also. I had fish chowder which was one of the best I have ever had. My husband had cheese cake which was presented beautifully. I mentioned to server that the bread was outstanding and he bought more bread wrapped in a foil swan for us to with us. The atmosphere was quiet, beautifully decorated. We were seat in front of the fire place with view out to the street. We would like to return to Prince of Wales to stay for a few days.

my wife, a friend and I spent 5 days and 4 nights at the Prince of Wales and had a perfect relaxing respite from business. The hotel is perfectly located for what we wanted to do: we walked to 4 plays and 1 block away we rented bicycles. we visited the Falls and the hotel staff could not have been more accommodating.
we are planning to repeat this trip next year

Room Tip: book early and try (i think ) to stay in the main house. We both stayed "off campus" by on...

My boyfriend and I visited Niagara on the Lake in July and based upon TripAdvisor reviews chose the Prince of Wales.

On the plus side, the hotel is ideally located right on the main street of Niagara on the Lake. The flowers and grounds around the hotel are absolutely gorgeous. The rooms was small, but had a great amenities. Victorian is not my taste, but the boyfriend loves it.

On the down side, the nightly rate was quite high considering that it did not include breakfast. Perhaps we caught the staff on a bad day, but they did not seem to want to make too much of an effort to offer assistance or just were not around. For example, each time we went to the concierge desk, they were not around. The only exception was the bellman Jason who always had a smile and offered directions, assistance and friendly greeting each time we saw him.

But he is not enough to make us want to come back - particularly for the price.

Room Tip: Chose something larger than a traditional room, especially if you are there for more than one night.

A little pricy for the area, but the service is worth it. The rooms are well appointed and nice size. I really cant say there was an exceptional staff, they are ALL exceptional. Desk staff, restaurant, bell, room maids, they were all great and friendly, and not a fake friendly, they were all genuinely nice. Mike an engineer doubled up as a drive took us to Ft. George and when he knew we were going for the Canada Day fireworks, he had housekeeping bring us towels to take, to sit on. We didn't ask, he just took ownership. The restaurant is very good, room service is excellent and we could walk to all shows easily, the fort, parks and all the shops. They also own a few other of the Hotels in town and you can eat at those and charge the meal to your room. As a customer service nerd, this place rates better than many of the top hotels anywhere. We love Niagara on the Lake and want to return, we will definitely stay at the Prince of Wales.

This hotel far exceeded our expectations. We stayed here for two nights with our daughters for a weekend trip. They were thrilled with the hotel amenities and the location was perfect. Our package included a bottle of wine each night of our stay and breakfast in the dining room. The breakfast was excellent, both the buffet and from the menu. Our server both mornings was Devin, she was friendly, pleasant and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we might need or want. In fact, all the hotel staff were extremely friendly and happy to be of service. We were always greeted with a "hello" and a smile whenever we crossed paths with any of the staff. Although a sublevel room, it had plenty of natural light and was a beautiful room, complete with fireplace. We hope to return to this hotel again.

My wife and I have always wanted to stay here, but for various reasons had not done so until 10 days ago. We are delighted to report that we were not disappointed. All of the staff from the front desk to the dining room to the housekeeping department made us feel special. After checking out, we realized we had left a few things in our closet. I called the hotel and found them most responsive. They packaged our things and shipped them to us at another destination.

We also enjoyed dining in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. It is pricy, but not out of line for a place of this quality.

In addition, the location is hard to beat. You can easily walk just about everywhere you want to go.

I should mention that we were upgraded to a beautiful suite that gave us more room than we needed, but I believe we would have given an excellent rating had we stayed in a regular room.

Stayed here for business during the Council of the Federation meetings and accommodations, food, service, and location were all top notch. The food is reasonably priced for a hotel and it is situated at the intersection of King and Queen streets in the heart of the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake directly across from a beautiful park. You can walk everywhere from April to early November including a few local wineries. The hotel gym in the basement is functional although my room was more suited for sleeping and relaxing as opposed to some desk work that needed to get done. However, the WIFI was good and the room was quiet with modern speakerphones to boot. Small touches like free water, good soaps/shampoos and soft towels were well appreciated. As part of the Vintage Hotels group, they have shuttles that move between hotels and other local attractions. If you are travelling in the summer, this hotel did not have a pool that I could see for the kiddies, but the Pillar and Post down the road did. Would like come back for a couples, relaxing weekend ... but will ask for a room with a touch quieter AC unit if possible.

Room Tip: 2nd or 3rd floor in the main building.
