I reviewed this place on our first trip to NOTL but when we visited a second time, I wanted to see if it would be consistent. It was! As many other reviewers have posted, it is a great choice for people with gluten intolerance as well as vegetarians.

Yes, it appears some things are heated up for serving but that is to be expected with choices like quiche and Guinness Pie. That aspect did not affect the flavor or experience. We had to wait a little bit for the place to open because there was a rare power outage in the region and all businesses had late starts opening up. However, we could smell the fresh scones in the oven.

Yes, it is pricy but so is everything in NOTL and in most areas of Canada. The costs are comparable to New York City. If you know that "going in" you will not be sticker shocked.

the ham was a meager portion on a hard thin muffin...I think there was cheese, but not a tasty sandwich.

We eat here each time we stay in the Niagara Falls or Niagara on the Lake region, one or more times a year. We do so because the food is very good and most of it is Wheat Free, a necessity for us, Our last 2 trips have been with others and every one in our group liked the restaurant, both food and service, (this includes both those needing to avoid wheat and those who do not have to).

Why does everybody love this place? We stopped in for a light lunch before theater. I had quiche (reheated, not fresh made) and iced tea. $3.50 for a glass of iced tea with a refill costing another $3.50. Seriously? Beet salad was o.k. Hubby had a salad plate with hot tea. Quick, light lunch ended up costing $50+. Too much. Should have had a gelato.

This may be easy to miss on the busy Queen St. strip since it is located at the back of the store. There is also a small patio out back. The food is pre-made but reheated well. The gf boxty was filled with flavorful chicken curry that had just the right amount of heat. The gf salmon cakes were also tasty. The mushroom and celery soups were dairy free. The dessert case had many gf options. The date-squares were dairy/egg free. Service was super-friendly and quick.
