Copper Lane is a house from another century, although the decor couldn't be more fashionable and comfortable. Maddy's remarkable taste is obvious from the beautiful lounge and dining room through to the porch with comfortable chairs around a table and an overhead chandelier lit with candles. Each of the three bedrooms is similarly charming with every need of the guest evident. The lounge with its relaxing sofas is a perfect place to sit for a chat with other guests, all of whom seem to be interesting people from all corners of the globe. The breakfasts are unsurpassed at any of the many B&B's we've stayed at during the past years, and so generous we never need another meal at lunchtime....although I must admit to nibbling at the snacks she makes sure are regularly replenished in our rooms. Our primary purpose for visiting Niagara on the Lake is to attend the Shaw Festival and all three theatres are within a few blocks walking distance so you never need to worry about finding parking space in a town as busy as NOTL is during the Festival. Nor do you need to take the car to get to any of the fine and reasonable restaurants nearby. Pub meals, Greek or Italian give you a wonderful choice and there's always good plain Canadian food available for those less advenurous souls.
