“A Nice place for a quick meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2013

We had a quick meal soup and sandwich. The food was fresh and prepared well. Also had a rack of ribs that were quite tasty and tender.

“Average Food and Poor Service”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2013

Three of us ate here for dinner on Thursday night. It took a very long time for the waitress to come and take our order. Then it took an even longer time for her to bring our drinks. She said she forgot. And a very long time for the food. We had the caesar salad, clam chowder, ham and brie sandwich, and the mushroom ravioli. The salad and soup were mediocre. The other items were ok. The place wasn't that busy when we first got there so not sure what the issues were with the service. There are too many good places to eat in this town for us to ever go here again.

“Friendly courteous staff!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2013

Great atmosphere...staff is informative, friendly, smiling, courteous...we had a very negative experience at Yiannis next door...we walked out before even giving our order so Bistro 61 was like being in heaven...highly recommended!!

“Very Long Wait; Higher end of Casual; Restrooms in Basement”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 28, 2013

The wait to be seated was quite long despite the restaurant only being at half capacity throughout our time spent there. The menu does not show prices for non-alcoholic beverages as it ought to. Menu prices, in general, are slightly higher than you would expect, but that is most probably because it is in a convenient tourist area. As for service, we waited forty-five minutes for our dinners, much too long for two hamburgers. Our server was kind, and tried to explain that it takes a long time to prepare burgers as according to Ontario law, mistakenly assuming we were not local. The burgers were fine, but not worth that long wait. Important to note: restrooms are in the basement which is poor planning for seniors or those with disabilities and nor is there elevator access. The restaurant purposefully leaves the front door wide open to the street even in very hot weather to entice people to come in. Unfortunately it also invites flies in and heats the place up.

“Great Sandwiches and Great Pizza”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2013

This year we ate two meals there and enjoyed each of them. We were attracted to Bistro Six-One because of our visits to the restaurant in past years.
