Even though we changed our arrival time at the last minute, Chris made us feel immediately at home. He told us all about the surrounding area and make some excellent recommendations for visits to local wineries, restaurants and entertainment. Our children stayed in one room while we stayed in another and both were comfortable with attached bathrooms. There was also a sitting area nearby which had free movies to watch, books and magazines to read and a small refrigerator. I've been saving the best for last - the breakfast was easily the best we have ever had. Chris, thank you for a wonderful stay!

This is our second stay at Almar House, and though we often try different places, just for the experience, we returned because it had been so delightful the first time. We were not disappointed! Our room was comfy and quiet, though we will go for a larger one next time. And breakfast was outstanding as usual, including really good coffee!
Chris and Sarah are well informed hosts, interested and interesting. They are intent on helping guests enjoy Niagara on the Lake and all that is going on there. We were going to use their bicycles for around town but the weather didn't co-operate. We highly recommend a visit to Almar House.

Sarah and Chris are fantastic hosts. Having stayed with them several times, the Almar House is always comfortable, clean, and a great value. Breakfast is always delicious and different - you would not want to miss this part of the stay. We are looking forward to our next stay.

Our stay at the Almar was a fantastic experience. The moment we arrived, Chris actually left the house to meet us in the driveway. He's super-friendly, down-to-earth and he knows where all the best wineries and restaurants in town are. He even gave us three or four winery coupons (worth probably around $40). ... So instead of wasting our own time researching online, we knew within minutes of our arrival what the can't-miss highlights were. The rooms were impeccable, and the ensuite showers were small but blessed with modern plumbing. ... The home was full of beautiful artwork, DVDs and wine paraphernalia, and apparently there's a nice deck (although it was too cold outside to enjoy). ... If all this weren't good enough, breakfast the next morning consisted of eggs benedict, fresh fruit and some delicious vanilla flan pudding. ... Really extraordinary value.

We actually stayed at the House, not the Cottage. Chris and Sarah cooked amazing breakfast each morning, we extended our stay from 2 to 3 nights we liked it all so much. We had the larger room and bathroom, but all the rooms were lovely. No complaints at all, I highly recommend this B&B for comfort, cleanliness, easy walk to town and amazing 3 course breakfast, all home cooked!
