Description: It is hard to say what pastry chef and proprietor Catherine O'Donnell is best known for - her incredible breads, decadent cakes, or her decidedly delicious pastries. Unquestionably, they are all worth the trip to Willow Cakes and Pastries in Niagara-on-the-Lake, christened "a place of pilgrimage for anyone with a sweet tooth" by James Chatto in the LCBO's Food and Drink magazine. Stepping into Willow Cakes and Pastries feels like a trip to the Continent and a European patisserie. Customers experience the feel of both a local bakery and an exquisite boutique - surveying the breads, chocolates, cakes and tarts in gleaming display cases, watching Catherine and her team at work through the viewing window or lingering over coffee and a newspaper. Whether you are in the market for a show stopping wedding cake, a dessert to impress your guests, a gift to be savoured, or a coffee and quick bite on the go, Willow Cakes and Pastries is truly a "must stop shop" in Niagara.

“Delicious, Delicious and just simply delicious”
Reviewed August 6, 2014

This is a wonderful bakery and if you have gluten allergies or just don't want to eat gluten they have delicious offerings for you too. I of course asked for extra gluten. Love it and went more than I probably should have, but as I said it's simply delicious.

“LOVE Wilow!”

We were there 3 times last weekend. AMAZING pastery, bread, cookies... Even the glutin free mussin was outstanding. A terrific place for breakfast (NO sausage rolls. Bummer!) or lunch, or snack. HIGHLY recommended!!!

“Excellent Viennoisserie”
Reviewed July 20, 2014

This shop is located in a busy intersection with a Tim Horton's; it's been that way for as long as I can remember. I'd say that a bakery that can withstand that kind of competition is quite a bakery. I would much rather eat a Willow danish or croissant than a Tim Horton's doughnut, and that's saying a lot!

I have never actually eaten my pastries in the shop; I always get them to take away.

“A treat for the eyes and tummy!”
Reviewed July 16, 2014

The service was friendly and there is ample room to sit an enjoy your purchase or you can have your selections boxed for take away. We enjoyed what we had; hazelnut cheesecake and a chocolate brownie, but found them expensive. Nice for a treat though.

“Worth every calorie”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

Willow has a reputation to uphold and they don't disappoint. We bought a few pastries and cookies an they were amazing even the next day. We were headed to the wineries and I like to take bread to "Cleanse my Palate" between tastings. They have nice bread also but the pastries are what you don't want to miss. I am not a big shortbread fan but loved the shortbread cookies.
