The Historic Pacific
Reviewed May 21, 2011

We've visited NOTL for more than a dozen times to attend the Shaw Festival, visit wineries and just stroll along the historic streets. We have stayed at the Historic Pacific in past years because of the house's ideal location for walking to theaters and around town. However, this visit was the best ever. Chris and Jen, who are now the hosts in this b & b, have maintained the house's historic integrity while renovating it with elegance and grace so the space seems larger. Our room was pristine, quiet, comfortable, restful; the private bath was provided with lushly thick towels. Breakfasts were gourmet heaven - treats beyond our expectation; we did not need lunch. Chris and Jen are the perfect hosts: they made us feel immediately welcome, engaged with us as if we were friends, not just paying guests. This is absolutely the best place to stay in NOTL.

I could not imagine a better b&b for our time in Niagara on the Lake. The house is done in a clear and contemporary style while maintaining its historic integrity (ask the owners about the history of the home, it is fascinating). The guests all complimented the comfort of the beds at breakfast and how quite each of our rooms were even though the rooms were all full.
The hosts (who are also the owners) were incredibly welcoming - including helping us set up dinner reservations and hiking and wine tastings for the following day upon our arrival. Breakfast was fresh, tasty, and filling (the homemade jams are exquisite on the fresh croissants).
Located about a block from where the Niagara River meets Lake Ontario, two blocks from the main strip, and two blocks from Fort Mississauga, you can just leave your car parked at the historic pacific and explore the town on foot.
I especially recommend this b&b for younger persons and couples seeking

I will toot my own horn. I consider myself a veteran of the Niagara On the Lake B&B scene having enjoyed the region as a relaxing destination close to my home city for many years. As a result of this experience I must recommend the delightful hospitality my wife and I were provided this past two days at The Historic Pacific. Our hosts were charming and warm, the premises spotless, the rooms luxurious but tasteful, and the food delicious. The location is superb. Set in the historic town center The Historic Pacific is literally steps to Queen Street (the main street), but our night was wonderfully peaceful (the owner, Chris, told me he had recently soundproofed all the rooms). Be sure to ask Jen (co-owner) to share some of her favorite local secret spots to visit for the best food and drink. We were not led astray.
In all my years of visiting the region I have yet to have as pleasant and comfortable experience.
Thank you Jen and Chris!

We stayed at the Historic Pacific while in town for the Days of Wine & Chocolate in February. This was not our first vacation in NOTL but it was without question the best, thanks to Chris and Jen and their lovely Historic Pacific B&B.
Not only was the atmosphere elegant, the rooms were pristine (and we're quite particular) and thoughtful in detail, and best of all - so incredibly cozy and comfortable.
Our breakfasts were healthy and delectable - not at all rich or heavy, which has been the case at other B&Bs. In fact, they were the perfect start to the day.
Chris and Jen are clearly consummate professionals and have put a lot of thought, care, eco-consciousness and considerable skill into their B&B. We so appreciate their kindness and hospitality - and we're looking forward to another great chat and visit the next time we're in NOTL.

We stayed at the Historic Pacific in June shortly after Jen and Chris took over and it was a great experience. The owners are wonderful hosts. The rooms are cozy and inviting. The breakfast was the absolute best and deserving of a - WOW! Chris offered insights to the local wineries and he was spot on. The location is very convenient to the NOTL shops and restaurants. If you’re looking for a place that makes you feel welcome and comfortable then you should consider the Historic Pacific.

We recently stayed at the Historic Pacific and as it was our first attempt to book solely based on "trip adviser" - we were so happy to see the reviews were accurate. Our hosts were ideal and made sure our stay was a blast. We were thrilled with Chris's tips on local, hidden vineyards and of course Jen's luscious breakfast that left us feeling pampered and satisfied. The location of the B&B is perfect. A block in one direction from the main street in Niagara on the Lake and a block the other way from the beautiful shoreline of Lake Ontario. We stayed in two of the rooms and both were amazing but I would have to say the Pacific Suite had a lovely all-wood sitting room facing the gardens, a claw-foot tub, and aleft us breathless. We're already looking forward to returning next spring!

The Historic Pacific is a brilliant B&B looked after lovingly by Jen & Chris. They were the perfect hosts and provided some excellent recommendations for first timeers to Niagara on the Lake. The rooms are each unique (we stayed in the Armstrong Quarters) and very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and Jen makes an amazing scone! I cannot recommend the Historic Pacific highly enough, I will be back next year.
