“Charming hosts, lovely home, ideal location - "Bed" and "breakfast" both superior”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 10, 2009

We stayed here over the 4th of July weekend, in the "Medici" room. It is worth noting that while this room has a smaller bed and no balcony, it has the highest ceilings, which helps when you are in a 19th century house and are 6'4".

Carlotta and Kash, her husband, could not be kinder and better hosts. Breakfasts each morning are served anytime from 830-10am, at your leisure, and to say they are generous would be an understatement. Carlotta makes everything fresh, often from Tuscan-sourced ingredients, and the courses just seem to keep coming - fruit with yogurt, bruschetta, fresh bread, main course and even a breakfast dessert, all with fresh coffee and juice freshly whipped up by Kash from the juicer. The breakfasts were uniformly delicious, and large enough that we usually skipped lunch.

Carlotta is a long-time hotelier and knows what she is doing when it comes to the details. Everything down to the bathroom soap has been hand-selected by her, and again, much of it is sourced from Tuscany. The beds she has selected, in particular, are some of the best I have slept in. They made it very difficult to get up in the morning, in a good way!

The house was newly renovated by Carlotta when she took over about a year ago, so although the home itself has a charming rusticity, everything inside of it is in excellent condition.

Besides doing such a fine job with the place, I cannot stress enough what fine people Carlotta and Kash are. They are the sort of people you hope to meet in every new destination.

I should add, finally, that the location of the B&B is very convenient - about a block from the main part of town. You will also have your own parking space, and the wineries and other attractions are all easily accessible by car.

This was our first trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake, and La Toscana di Carlotta was a huge part of why we will definitely go back.

What a beautiful place, and great hosts to boot. A perfect place to end up after a day of wine tasting!

Carlotta and Kash only opened this place about two-years ago, but look to have developed quite a loyal following since. This is a wonderful gem of a place, with nicely furnished/decorated rooms. While we haven't been to Italy, we can certainly say that our stay here felt as if we were there...from the scrumptious breakfasts and the endless cappuccinos to the Italian linens (oh so very soft) and the bath toiletries (made from goat's milk and without added perfumes). The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, great to chat with and knowledgeable about the local area. We truly enjoyed our stay and our one regret was having to leave; we can safely say we can't wait to be back!

We booked our one night stay at La Toscana di Carlotta based on the reviews and comments from other guests. Our biggest mistake was ONLY BOOKING ONE NIGHT! We could have stayed here for a week and enjoyed every minute of their company. The breakfast was one of the best we have ever had anywhere and the charm of the house is delightful. Carlotta and Kash make you feel right at home from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. The hospitality and the accommodations are wonderful. The bath products and amenities are excellent. Loved the goat milk bath products and the Keurig coffee maker in the room. Parking was easy and the location is great. Their recommendation for a restaurant turned out to be on the money. By the time we left, I felt as if I were saying "Ciao" to a long lost cousin. We will return as soon as we can.

Niagara on the lake is a beautifully historic village and Carlotta's lovelly B&B was the best we have ever experianced. Wonderful hospitality and genuine friendship - charming historic house in quiet surroundings - excellent cosy room with King size bed and en suite with balcony overlooking the garden - beautiful garden for breakfast outside and what a breakfast! Italian style, delicious and different made with the freshest ingredients. Kash is an expert on tea so we had it English style, the best cuppa of the holiday.
We would thoroughly recommend anyone passing near Niagara on the lake to stay at Carlotta's.

My husband and I loved the entire experience of La Toscana di Carlotta. We were made to feel completely at home and also special from the moment we walked in. Everything was immaculate and carefully prepared with whatever we might need including an amazing instant coffee maker. We loved the balcony of the Da Vinci room and enjoyed an afternoon glass of wine plus a morning cup of coffee (hazelnut or regular)sitting out there watching the world of NOTL go by. Our hostess and host couldn't have been nicer or more interesting and we were surrounded by so much beautiful art and Italian ceramics. Carlotta's breakfasts are delicious, unique, and we didn't need to eat again until dinner. One of the best aspects of this B&B is its incredibly convenient location to the theaters as well as the main drag with all its shops and restaurants.

My wife and I decided to stay in Niagara-on-the-Lake as an alternative to the high-rise hotels down at the Falls. There are well over 100 B&Bs in NOTL. We selected La Toscana di Carlotta because of its location, reasonable price, and TripAdvisor reputation. We were not disappointed with our choice, in fact we were delighted. Even the reservation phone call to Carlotta was a pleasure; she managed to make us feel welcome even before we got there! When we did arrive, Carlotta and her husband Kash gave us a warm and sincere greeting and all the information we needed to orient us to NOTL. Carlotta's restaurant recommendation was perfect. Our room was quiet and spotless, the bed was comfortable, and everything worked. Breakfast was unbelievable, from the crostini assortment to the perfect omlette to the apple torte. Carlotta and Kash are wonderfully sincere hosts and gracious, friendly innkeepers. I highly recommend La Toscana di Carlotta.
