If you want heritage walk the side streets of the town or wonder over to Fort George for the afternoon or even play a round of golf along the waterfront at one of the oldest golf courses in Canada with views across the lake toward the skyline of Toronto.

My husband and I spent an afternoon here in between wine tours. We would love to come back and stay longer. The sights are amazing, and there is plenty of shopping and dinning.

Amazing architecture, historic homes and buildings and an ambience that reminds me of Charleston. Spring is less crowded and when everything starts to bloom it is a wonderful site to see and smell. Get off the main street and wonder the historic residential areas to see the remarkable restorations, and perfectly preserved homes and hotels.

Definitely take the time to drive to this little town to get away from touristy Niagara Falls. Lots of nice shops, bakeries and restaurants. Beautiful view of the river meeting the lake. Delicious wine tasting at numerous vineyards. Very laid back area that is easy to get to. Do it!

If you visit Niagara Falls be sure to come back this way and spend a few hours exploring this quaint little lakeside town which has lots of vineyards with easy driving distance. they even have an old red London doubledecker if you don't fancy walking too much!
