Spent the day at Wine Country Cooking School and Strewn Winery. Jane did a great job teaching the class and husband Joe was equally great explaining wine pairings and the background of the operation. Very accommodating in terms of food restrictions - loads of fun spending the day creating a gourmet meal. Also ... great wines. Overall, a day that was more than worthwhile.

Went to a couples cooking class at Strewn and enjoyed every minute of it! Jane and her staff of helpers were alot of fun, helpful and very organized. My husband and I LOVE to cook and found that these recipes were absolutely delicious. We will definitely cook these at home and be proud to serve them to our guests. I would take another cooking class at Strewn in a heartbeat! What a wonderful way to spend a day cooking delicious food, drinking fabulous wine and meeting new people!

We go at least once a year to see Jane and her staff at the Strewn Winery cooking class. The class is very hands-on and each meal is paired with wine. The people are friendly, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is fun and relaxed. We can't visit Niagara-on-the-lake without booking a class !! On occasion we have been lucky enough during a class to get a tour of the wine cellar, or speak with Joe (her husband) who is their wine maker/guru !! I would highly recommend this cooking class to all types of cooks. There is no pressure - just helpful staff and wonderful recipes. And remember to not book a dinner reservation after this class as you will be too full !! Kaley & Craig

The Wine Country Cooking School at Strewn Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario is absolutely one of our favorite vacation spots! We have taken many classes over the years and eagerly await each return trip. Jane and her staff make everyone feel welcome, whether new to cooking or an 'old hand'. Hands-on classes are small and personal. They use the freshest local produce and quality ingredients with great recipes. At the end of a very fun cooking experience, where I always learn something new, we linger over a delicious meal of local, regional cuisine that we have prepared ourselves! The food and wines(let's not forget the wines!) are exceptional and I highly recommend this experience.  Wear comfortable shoes and don't make dinner plans that evening as you will not be hungry! A relaxed and friendly atmosphere, delicious food/drink, and new friends at the end of the class. A most enjoyable way to spend a day and best of all, we don't have to clean a thing!!

We first went to the Wine Country Cooking School 4 years ago. Because we had such a great time, we now go 2 times a year. If you enjoy cooking it's a great experience. The school is located at the winery so not only do you learn how to make a great menu, you also learn how to pair it with wines. The staff and facilities are excellent - there are 2 people at a fully equipped station and you make everything on the menu (starter, salad or soup, entree and 2 sides and dessert). One plus, over cooking at home, is the dirty dishes disappear and reappear clean, ready for you to use again. I've been to 4 cooking schools and Jane's is the best by far when you consider service, facilities, menu, and fun. She provides a menu that looks elegant but is practical to make.
