Description: As you walk into Niagara’s newest steakhouse, The Meat Market Niagara, you will be wowed by a really cool ceiling. Designed to look like a giant wine barrel, it set the mood for what was bound to be a great meal and attentive service. The kitchen area is open concept so that patrons are able to get up close and personal with the chef as he sears the steaks to perfection. We serve USDA Prime, a tender and juicy cut of meat, that is one of the highest grades of beef found; as well as Wagyu, a Japanese Kobe beef. In addition to these prime cuts of meat, the restaurant will be serving up seafood, potatoes and vegetables with basic (but elegant) appetizers. A wide variety of local beer and wine will be on tap (yup, there is a wine tap) and specially selected to pair nicely with the mains. One of the most unique things about the Meat Market, is that every steak ordered comes branded with their logo (the name will literally be seared into the steak). All the employees are highly trained in both food and wine pairing and are prepared when questioning which local wine would go best with the meal. Each employee goes through extensive training and as part of their preparation, have tried everything on the menu.

I was there with family on Saturday night and first of all let me give kudos to our server Elizabeth. She was friendly, efficient and informative. Took our drink orders and quickly returned with a wine choice. We all ordered various items and she got the order perfectly. I had the Waygu style ribeye sourced from a local farm which was cooked to perfection. I also had the baked "loaded" potato and the creamed brussel sprouts. My brother had the same ribeye but added the lobster mac and cheese which he described as incredible. Other parties had the baseball style steak with a lobster tail and our last guest had the 6 oz steak which she claimed melted in her mouth. The desserts apparently made in house were of the highest quality and the entire meal was served to perfection. Elizabeth thanks for your good humour and talking us into the desserts. They were great.

We loved this place, went on Saturday night, not super busy three other tables that were previously there before us. Waitress Andrea was great, especially once a couple big parties came in, she still was on point with service. Food was amazing, steak cooked to perfection - will def. be back!

I would rarely rate a place 5* but this place is a one of. When you can find a gem amongst the ocean of restaurants we have hold this place close to your heart. I travel this globe mainly to eat and I will say the Meat Market is IT! I am very impressed by the quality of food and I have to give my compliments to their manager/chef for sourcing quality.

Craving a steak, and oysters we decided to try the meat market. We went at 6pm and were the only people there, but it was a Monday.
We ordered a seafood tower. 66$ for two, clams, oysters, blackened tuna, lobster tail and shrimp.
Without telling us they decided to substitute mussels for clams, the tuna was well done, mussels had no sauce and 80% weren’t opened, the lobster was way over cooked. Shrimp was good, oysters were fresh but the horseradish was put on the ice and literally turned to water when the ice melted.
We ordered a 56$ steak to share, supposed to come with ancient greens, all we got was mashed potatoes that still had uncooked chunks. The steak was cooked to medium, ordered medium rare. The meal with a bottle of wine set us back 200$.
We were extremely disappointed with the experience and absolutely will never go back.
Please take our word for it.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!
