“Great little motel!”
Reviewed July 27, 2011

What a great motel. We needed a last minute room in Niagara Falls with a late arrival. My boyfriend found the Motel 6 online. We needed a clean, convient place for the night. This was the place. The rooms were small but very clean and cozy. We had a nice room at the end of the hall that was quiet. It was very hot while we were there and the air conditioning was wonderfully cool! This motel also had a nice pool area. I would recommend this motel to anyone looking for a great deal in Niagara Falls!

We stayed here for 2 nights in May 2011 for a weekend away. The front desk is not overly friendly but what can you expect for the cheap price. It is about a 30 minute walk down to Clifton Hill and the Falls. It rained most of our weekend so we drove to a lot of places and the parking lot at the hotel coming back was horrible - no spots and people parking in illegal spaces, apparently a lot of people use this parking lot for overnight parking even if they aren't staying at the hotel. Really can't beat the free parking though compared to some hotels in the area. We had a jacuzzi in our room and it was not cleaned the next day (old soap stains from our night before were still there the next day, which was kind of gross). NO SHAMPOO SUPPLIED so bring your own!!!! We wanted to have extra pillows, so I called down to the front desk but they made me go down myself to get them -they would not bring them up to our room.....great service (not!)
Also you have to dial "9" to get a local line out but there was no sign on the phone in the room telling us that so after a few minutes of trying we had to call the front desk for help.
We had a room right by the elevator and beside a rowdy bachelorette party so it was loud into the night, but we were so tired so it didn't really affect us that much.

I stayed here several times during Feb/March 2011 and saw all the good and bad.. basically most important thing is, if you're staying on the weekend pray that your room isn't next to a bunch of rowdy people who will be loud until sunrise.. during the week it's mostly a good place to stay..

THE GOOD:
- for a motel 6 it's reasonably clean..
- they advertise as "cheapest in Niagara Falls" but really it's still not that cheap for what you get, which = basic rooms
- microwave near lobby and fridge in every room
- indoor heated pool although I didn't use it
- convenient location
- allows you to pay $10-15 extra for late 6pm checkout, which if you go to bed late after a night out at Fallsview casino then it's a pretty good deal
- housekeepers were friendly and considerate

THE BAD:
- management charges even loyal customers more for extra person in room if you pay at the desk but on motel website it's same price for either 1 or 2 people and management denies that's the case despite it being so
- some clerks at reception were nice while others were not so nice
- motel offers 10% off 2 night promo but if you don't book 2 nights at once or stay several nights without noticing this promo then they charge you full price
- guests on the weekends tend to be drunk and rowdy, this happened across several weekends, and if they are loud before midnight then management pretty much lets them be loud
- on the weekend some guests book several rooms and party it up, with alcohol, drugs, and even escorts on a couple of occasions and the motel will be full so if you're next to one of these rooms you won't be able to change rooms
- allows pets and dogs can be barking in the room all day disturbing neighbors, also sometimes you see wet patches in elevator which had to come from the pets relieving themselves(but who knows, some guests on weekend were pretty ordinary too..)

I find it hard to write a review on this place because there is a lot of good, but a lot of not-so-good. Starting with the good, the front desk staff were amazing - we had an issue the first night with a four-room party (loud music, doors slamming, drinking in the hallways) and the front desk staff warned them, then called the police and they were out of there. Front desk staff were very nice, professional and helpful at all times.

The room itself was also great. Simple, but clean, spacious, mini fridge - all you would want and expect for a place at this price.

Free wifi and Free parking was a plus!

Location - great. A bit away from the main action, but easy 10 minute walk to the main area.

Now for the not-so-good. The place allows dogs, which is one thing, but we had neighbors on the second night who left their dog in their room from mid afternoon until almost 10pm at night - barking non stop. There was nothing the front desk could do (because the people were out) and the dog continued barking until their return. While it is one thing for them to allow dogs, there should be some kind of stricter rule as to not being allowed to leave them unaccompanied in the room, barking for hours. This seriously affected the quality of my stay and will be the only reason I will not return. I can imagine even other dog owners would not want to be subjected to hours of barking at a time from another dog.

Our overnight stay was excellent. We're two nomadic seniors with two labrador pups who demand hours of walks in the middle of the night. The motel's location suited this well. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable ... and the free wi-fi was fast! Outstanding value at a low price.

My wife and I did not like this motel . I realise it's a discount motel but you can do better then this. The beds were small and i'm only 5'7", the pillows were tiny and there were only two . I was reading some of the material they have in the room and motel 6 boasts that if it's not right they make it right , so i called down asking for another pillow but they said they were out . What happened to make it right . Anyway pick your battles so i just left it alone. I would not go back . This motel is good for teens looking to party , for anyone who wants to enjoy their weekend this is not the place.

Not bad. The price was excellent.Clean with helpful, courteous staff. Rooms were roomy and had a fridge. My only complaint was that there was too much chlorine in the pool. Bleached out the colors of clothing worn into the pool. Left my skin red and burned and eyes burning. Even after showering after swimming and then again the following morning, I could still smell the chlorine on my skin and in my hair. Aside from that I would recommend this motel to anyone going to the area but not wanting to spend a lot for your room.
