“Nice hotel, good location”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

This is a nice hotel with great staff. The parking is convenient. However, there are only 2 nearby handicap spaces and they were never vacant on our entire stay. It is easy to let someone off by the front door but there were usually other vehicles waiting to advance to this area. The handicap area was not far from the registration area so this worked well. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Our second room was a distance from the elevator which turned out to be good. I would definately ask to not be near the elevators. The elevator areas were always busy on all floors. The downside of this hotel is that only one elevator was working for our 3 day stay and it took over 30 minutes to get an elevator one day. Tour bus groups also stay here. Plan your departure at an off time so you can get an elevator. Also, ask for a room on a floor you feel you could use the stairs to walk down when you need to leave each day. The breakfast was nice with lots of choices. Again, plan your breakfast time a little "off" to find it less crowded. i.e. rather than meeting your party at 8 a.m. go at 8: 10 etc. There is a public computer near the registration desk with an attached printer. It was possible to print at no charge. There was usually coffee in the area and cookies at times. The staff were very helpful and willing to go the extra mile to obtain tour information. Although it is a bit of a hike it is possible to walk to the falls viewing area. Be prepared for crowded sidewalks with up and down climbs. The parking near the falls is problematic. Highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Request a room at the far end of the hallway, not the elevator hallway.

I read a ton of reviews before we booked our trip and finally settled on this hotel. Everything the reviews say are true - clean, friendly staff, good breakfast selection, awesome location, plenty of parking, etc. Here are just a few particulars I thought I would elaborate on. First, there were multiple comments about a smell in some of the rooms. We did find when we first entered our King Suite on the 6th floor that there was a lingering food smell, but after running the air conditioner for a few minutes and letting the air circulate in the room it wasn't noticeable at all. Second, the beds were super comfortable but I found the pillows a little flat. Wasn't a big deal because for our one bed, there were four pillows, and two more extra in the dresser so I didn't have to track down more, which was fantastic. Our request to be away from elevators and ice machines was fulfilled, and considering there were only 2 elevators for the whole hotel we never had to wait more than a few minutes for one. If we are ever in the Niagara area again we would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: We faced Victoria Ave and had no issues with noise.

Be patient getting into Canada... very long wait! We crossed into Canada and the motel was right their. Check in was easy, room was very nice with a hot tub! Within walking distance of everything. Free breakfast was first class. No reason to fight traffic on down Victoria Ave. This area is pretty calm unlike three blocks down the street where there is a carnival - like atmsphere in all directions. If we return to Niagara Falls, this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: No rooms have falls view, so pick the most cost effective room.

Great location in the fall area. We stayed in two queen suite which is perfect for our family of the four. It is very nice to take a 15 minutes walk in the shopping area to the fall. A bunch of restaurants are near the hotel. Great free breakfast and the hotel offers free coffee all days long in the lobby. Parking is only $8 per day comparing to $30 in most of the hotels in the area. Definitely recommended.

We will be back for sure!

It pays to be a member of Club Carlson... We booked with a 35% discount on a room rate. Compared to other hotel prices in the area - it was a steal!
Like some other reviews said:
- excellent location, close to Clifton Hill but away from the noise...
- nice, filling breakfast /at earlier hours - no problem with getting a seat/ and we liked the decor of the breakfast room
- big parking that can accomodate a large number of vehicles
- decent parking charge per day /8$+tax/
- coffee/tea in the lobby at all times
- cookies /different kind every day/ at the reception desk
- helpful and smiling front desk staff /thank you, Muhammed, for pointing out that we can print our boarding passes free of charge... :)/
And the list could go on and on...

The only "upgrades" that I would like to see in the future would be: decent wifi connection in all the rooms; mini fridges in all the rooms /not only suites/ and faster internet /lobby computer station/.
Other than that........ already looking to book for next year's trip...

The hotel was clean and modern. Front desk was kind and helpful. Breakfast could have had some scrambled eggs, but was otherwise very good. Within easy walking distance to the Maid of the Mist and the WEGO bus stop, which I highly recommend you use. While not a falls view, its in a good location and serves its purpose well. Interesting that the hotels on the Canadian side all charge for parking...which I find annoying....as if I was going to be able to park anywhere else?!

Great choice for families...big 2 room suites available with 2 queens and sofa bed. Comfy beds! Cookies in the lobby were a hit coffee available too and the pool was good. Breakfast was busy so be prepared to wait a bit...to be expected though in a busy hotel...attendants were polite and kept things replenished. Lots of choice and great to have the option. We would recommend. Appreciated the phone call from the front desk just after check in to see if we had everything we needed...never had that in a hotel before.
