“Great fun, but a little pricey.”

Wolfe Lodge has everything you can think of for kids. The water park is huge, and has rides for eveyone from the smallest to the biggest kids (adults) in the family. We were very impressed with the variety and the number of water slides and other features in this part of the hotel. The only down side here is the lack of seating. It can get a bit crowded.

Wolfe Lodge also has the MagiQuest game, which is spread throughout the building, and an indoor bowling alley, though we didn't participate in these activities. The buffet-style cafeteria has great food, but it's somewhat overpriced. The rooms were very clean and had a lot of space. We had a Wolf Den room for my husband, me, and our two boys, ages 6 and 9. Each boy got their own wrist band that doubled as a room key, so we didn't have to worry about them being able to get into and out of the room or losing the key cards.

All in all, we had a great weekend and would go back, though I'd probably wait to find a deal for the hotel and would try to eat off site to help with the food costs. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and really did a good job at creating a celebratory atmosphere for the kids.

I came here for the first time this past weekend with my daughter, mother, sister and her family I am so glad I did. So much for the kids to do within the water park and than the Magi Quest game that you don't have to leave to go anywhere else.
Came with kids ranging in ages from 4 to 13 and all enjoyed themselves. The arcade is your typical place to sink money in but at least it gives the kids something else to do a long with playing in the bowling alley. I only wish they would have included one free game for what you pay, but that can be overlooked.
All staff deserve the paws in my opinion as everyone we encountered was friendly and smiling as if they really liked their job.
I will definitely be back and next time will book a visit to the spa.
I am certainly going to tell others to come here for it's worth the trip across the border.

Stayed at Great Wolf Lodge for two nights (Fri-Sun). Had a great time!! Reserved with a 20% off promo which brought our room to just under $1000.00 for 7 adults (two teens, two 20's, two 50's and our 76yr old grandmother.)

Check-in was quick but very loud. Music was playing very loudly in the main lobby making it almost impossible to hear. We arrived at 2:00pm and were given our wrist bands, which are also your room keys, and were told we would get a text message informing us our room number once the room was ready. We took to the bar for some happy hour drinks (you can get drinks in a to-go cup to take around the resort) and munchies and by 3:45pm our room was ready.

We stayed in room 4032, a Loft Suite. The room was gorgeous and VERY clean. There were plenty of towels in the room, hand soap pump on the wall and shower/body wash pump mounted in the shower. The room had a mini fridge/freezer, microwave (not allowed to pop popcorn $250.00 fine) and a safe. The balcony was large with two chairs, table and a built in ashtray. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. We used the pull out couch and found extra pillows, sheets and blankets already supplied in the room for it. The first night it got very hot in the room and extremely hot in the loft which made it a little uncomfortable for sleeping even with adjusting the thermostat. The second night we opened the balcony door before we went to bed to cool down the room and the temperature was then okay for sleeping. Overall, I was very impressed with the room.

We used the water park Friday night at around 5pm and it wasn't busy. It was very warm coming through the doors and into the water which was very nice. A ton of things to do in the water park. Great for all ages. We spent most of our time on the slides, the outdoor hot tub and in the lazy river. They will not let you take in outside drinks but if you have a travel mug (bubba) you can bring that in with drinks of your choice. Two complaints I have about the waterpark however, the lazy river rules state you have to be in a tube, you cannot free swim but half of the lazy river was full of kids pushing everyone in the tubes around to swim past and chase each other. Also in the lazy river six kids were stopped in the middle goofing around dunking each other and holding one boy underwater while the lifeguard walked by laughing.
We didn't use the water park during the day at all because it looked really busy. On Saturday we went in around 5 after spending the afternoon on Cliffton Hill, and it again was not busy. The waterpark temperature was a lot cooler than the previous day and it was actually very cold when getting out of the pools or standing in line for the slides. Towels are provided in the park and we never had a problem getting any. Also changerooms and lockers provided with bathing suit dryers.

The food at GWL is good, not amazing, but there's always something for everyone to eat. We had the buffet the first night at $22.99 a head. Full salad bar, ribs, chicken, pork, fish, mussels, four types of pizza, pastas, rice, soup and chili, and a little island for the kiddies with fries, chicken fingers, mac n cheese. Ice cream, fruit and cakes/pastries for dessert. The Buffet staff were very nice but we had trouble with our waitress, not clearing plates asking us for refills or napkins etc. We only saw her when she took our drink order, brought us our drinks and then gave us our bill (which she tried to give before we were even done our dinner plates). Also, which really ticked us off, she somehow linked up our bill with the previous tables Visa card which could have been messy... $200.00 for buffet for 7 adults no alcohol.
Went down to the canoe coffee with my grandma for breakfast. Two large coffees two bagels with cream cheese, and a yogurt cost us $20.00. Outside the coffee shop there aren't any tables and chairs so, you have to either bring it back to your room or sit and eat/drink in a crowded lobby or loud seating areas by the elevators. The ladies at the coffee shop were very nice.
Dinner on Saturday night was ordered at the Northwoods pizza company. 14.99lb of wings, $19.99lg pizza. Picked up a bunch of sweets at the bear club café - around $4.00 each.
We also brought a plug in cooler of food and drinks into our room to snack on which you are allowed to do. You can also order takeout (pizza, Chinese etc.) from local restaurants to be delivered to the front desk.

A few minor con's:
Very hard to find a cart to load your luggage onto.
Magic quest game is very loud and kids run around all day and even into the night screaming and yelling.
Long lines during the day for slides.
Very loud music at check-in.
Very loud music at night in the lobby for activities.
Rude parents swearing and spoiled children pushing and shoving others throughout halls, pools, lines etc. with little parent supervision.
Ice machines and elevators very far from rooms.
Only entertainment for teenagers at night is the Arcade/bowling, closes at 11:00pm (should have some type of disco or activities for teens)
Children running up and down halls after 11pm yelling and slamming doors.

Overall, Wonderful weekend with the family and would definitely go back! Even if it is a little expensive its a nice little getaway.

Room Tip: Get a room away from the main lobby where there's less foot traffic and a lot quieter!

My four year old daughter is sick and has been throwing up the whole night. We asked for a late check out based on the fact that she fell asleep at 9.45am and needed to rest a little longer than 11am. We are willing to pay for it, but since they have reached their maximum limit they will not consider this request. I am very frustrated by their inconsideration of a special need, and refusal to accommodate this request. A sick child should come first.

At GWL right now (Feb 22/14). At check in last night upsold me the meal package. Now I've been waiting for 50 minutes to get into the GWL restaurant for my prepaid dinner buffet. Kids love it here and there is fun to be had but avoid the meal plan - you don't save much $ and just prepaying to wait hours in line. Order pizza and spend the extra time on the water slides.

This was my second trip to Great Wolf Lodge with my 2 kids ages 2 and 5. We were prepared for the costs involved in a 2 night stay having previously only stayed one night, but expected at least a good room and service. We first checked in and we're told our room was ready so after hauling our luggage and kids up to the 4th floor we were miffed to find it hadn't been cleaned yet. We asked a cleaning staff member to do the room while we waited outside since we had all of our belongings with us. After a 20 minute wait we we're let into our room. About half an hour later another family arrived trying to enter our room. Turns out we'd been given the wrong room number so we had to pack up our belongings and move rooms. We were offered a complimentary dinner for the ordeal so I was fine with it, though the experience was annoying. Then a few hours later we realized there was something wrong with the vent in our new room and it was making a very loud wheezing noise. Maintenance wasn't able to do anything to fix the problem despite contacting them twice, and so on Saturday (our 2nd day there) we had to move rooms again!! Management offered more free meals which is a nice gesture but when I'm paying $300 a night I shouldn't have to deal with these issues. The waterpark was very busy and pools were closed due to contamination (they re-opened after being cleaned). There is tons to do for kids and the children's entertainment is top notch. After this experience I don't think I will be back. $1000 for a weekend is quite pricey considering all the issues we encountered.

It's a great place for the whole family . Great fun rooms and lots to do . But... It's expensive if u don't get a deal from a coupon web site . Plus it's in Canada ! On the plus side the food was very good at the Buffet ! There r other options available . I did see many people coming in with coolers . They do provide a microwave and frig. So u can save money that way . It says no outside food in water park but everyone did . Very busy place and it's quite loud but it's a waterpark ! U can stay the whole next day after u check out . Lockers available if u need . Great fun !
