This hidden gem is a wonderful way to spend a few hours. Take a packed lunch, wear stout trainers or walking boots and descend vertically down into the gorge via a metal staircase (not suitable for the infirm) The walk then meanders down through woods and rocks full of chipmunks and birds until you eventually arrive at the waters edge. The torrent that is the Niagara river has Whirlpool boats full of wet passengers on its lower rapids. Stroll along the edge waving at the Americans doing the same on the other side. eat your lunch(leave no litter) and meander back up by a different route and back up the staiirway to rejoin the world of cars driving to and from the falls. A truly beautiful place to be.

The trails are scenic, although a bit rough. I'm 64 y.o. and in reasonable good shape, but the elevation changes about got to me. Be prepared for some great scenery with a bit of work. At a couple of points the mighty Niagara River is pretty close and you can see the amazing volume of water it produces. Worth the climb!!!

Feared this would be a real hike/trek but was pleasantly surprised to find it to be an easy meandering walk. You will need decent footwear rather than flip flops or similar and if out at dusk the midges are annoying. there are some great vantage points for excellent photos and it is brilliant to see the activities on the river.

Friends tha I met while travelling and me went hiking thought these triañs all along the river. It was an amazing experience. Not easy since we decided to go all the way to the Whirpool but it was one of the best things to do while in Niagara.

It's absolutely worth it to do the hike down to the Niagara River.
Beautiful area to spend a couple hours. Do the hike down to the river and than take a break and watch the speedboats on the river.
