“Don't overlook it”
Reviewed June 24, 2014

As you go upstream away from the falls themselves in a very short distance you can turn off for Dufferin Islands; do it. It is a lovely small park formed in what is essentially a sort of bay of the Niagara River. But in contrast to roaring cataract itself and the rushing water in the main stream of the river this is a tranquil setting of small island, streams, paths and bridges. Even in high summer you will have no problem parking (for free) and no jostling crowds. It is a pleasant, peaceful place to walk around with enough variety to be interesting but small enough not to be tiring.

“Pretty, with lots of poo”
Reviewed June 23, 2014

Bring a tarp if you don't have a chair, so you can sit on the ground without sitting in goose poo.

The seagulls are scavengers and unruly, and I wish they would leave everyone alone. They were constantly begging us for food. The geese and ducks were more dignified (except for the poo).

“Another Perspective of The Falls”
Reviewed June 21, 2014

These are small Islands conected one afetr another to the US niagar Falls National Parks. From this location you see the river strenght before getting to the falls. they are very well mantained and with nice gardens and bridges. The sound of the river is great. Great spot to take a brake and chill.

“Great change from hustle and bustle of other attractions”
Reviewed May 28, 2014

Our family stopped here while at the falls and it was busy we had to drive around a few times to get a spot, It is a great nature area with ducks geese turtles and other pond animals. It was a great peaceful walk and out family really enjoyed it. Nice groomed paths, picnic tables and BBQs for those who want to picnic. Such a nice break from the money grab tourist traps

“Oasis in Niagara Falls”
Reviewed March 5, 2014

Great place for visitors to get away from the crowds . We visit the Islands quite often. At Christmas time for sure to see the lights ( please donate when you leave ) We are local seniors. We bring our lunch and enjoy sitting by the water, feeding the birds and people watching. On weekends, we think it's great to see large families around the built-in BBQ's cooking their national foods . When we have a gang of out-of-towners we stop at some sub place to get everyone their own sandwich, drink and off we go to the islands. Great fun, easy and the kids love the wildlife and the nature walk. We need more picnic tables maybe a few of the so called "senior friendly tables".
