“Beware: wheelchair recommended not walker or cane”
Reviewed April 24, 2014

Attended a wonderful performance in the Convention Centre Hall-Abbamania. Beautiful facility, wonderful show and staff were quite helpful. However it was a terrible experience getting into the convention centre. First of all, the line to get into the parking lot was around the corner and onto Stanley Ave. There was no sign saying to drop off wheelchair guests close to the main, centre entrance. Parking was prohibited beside the building but we were able to get out of the line up and drop off our friend with a walker. Very difficult to get back into the line up since everyone was waiting... There was a long gentle slope to get to the wheelchair accessible door which was slippery. It was very challenging with someone who needed a walker. While it passes the accessibility act, it is very inconvenient and challenging. In future, I will not bring anyone with a walker or cane (maybe a wheelchair).

“Nice Facility, but Customer Service lacks”
Reviewed November 22, 2013

Attended an event at the centre and while the building is stunning, the service we received from the staff was not impressive to say the least. When I asked a question as to the location of ne of the halls, I got a blank look on the face of the staff member. He asked me to wait until he could find another staff member who might be able to help. I waited for 12 minutes and nobody came back to help me. One would think with such a nice building the staff would be better trained and at least help customers and not ignore them.

“Nice, big facilities”
Reviewed November 20, 2013

This new convention centre is within walking distance to most major attractions, restaurants and hotels. I was surprised with the size of it: our conference had upwards of 1,000 delegates but still felt somewhat empty given the spacious insides of this place.
The centre has plenty of convenient parking for an extremely reasonable rate of $8 onsite for 24 hours and its lunch meals are quite good. They are able to provide for dietary restrictions and have excellent wifi as well as lounge/break seating areas.
Overall, I am impressed by these facilities and look forward to going back there for future conferences!
