“Overall excellence”
Reviewed March 25, 2014

We started with a $70 coupon from the hotel we were staying at, and we booked ahead. First thing we noticed was the excellent ambiance, as we sat in our private grotto, equipped with a curtain. Our waiter "Chris" was very welcoming and informative, being that this was a first for us. We noticed the prices were fairly high, but you had to look at the entire package before you judged the pricing. We had Prime Rib (10 oz was $49), a baked potato was $12, and veggies were around the $12 mark, but as Chris suggested a loaded baked potato was big enough to share unless you were starved. This way of pricing is ideal, as you only get and pay for what you want, and your plate should go back empty (if you can manage to eat everything you order). The cooking concept was also explained. The meat is seared at 1800 degrees, for a brief time, then cooked to your request, followed by a brief heat up at 500 degrees, and served sizzling on a very hot plate. WOW!! The flavour!! I wanted more!! But alas the meal was very tasty and very filling. So quantity, quality, atmosphere, service = A little pricey but fair bill considering what we got in exchange…I'm going to go back and I would recommend it for anyone looking for a romantic dinner while visiting Niagara Falls…hey a great honeymoon stop…I ain't getting married again just so I can have a great steak….you figure the occasion and stop by Ruth's Chris for that special meal.

“Overpriced but only good, fo rthat money should be "amazing"!!”
Reviewed March 25, 2014

The staff was good. The food was good. The price is not good. The dishes we had that were worth the money,.... all the appies, especially the lobster bisque soup and the for the side dish, the sweet potato casserole. We ordered the 5 course meal,...too much food for both of us, so in that regards, there was plenty of food , but, for the price?? you paid for that "plenty of food".
With the appies being good, the extras, and main dishes good,... the steak was average and the lobster tail very cold and very tough. We put the tail on the hot steak plate hoping it would warm up and it did slight from cold, to luke cold. So, I don't feel there is a good enough reason to buy a steak here since the prices are so high. After the free $70 coupon, the bill was still $280 with tip. It may be best not to use the coupon and go elsewhere if your a steak nut. I am not sure why they "the chain" thinks their steak is worth that kind of money? This is the second "Ruth's" I have been to and the last. But good for them!

Reviewed March 24, 2014

Our evening meal at the restaurant was Fantastic, we sat in the second booth with the curtains partly closed ...very romantic. Our server was a young highly educated young women who was extremely polite and was well verse in all the menu items, I requested her name Meghan Celeth . Highly recommend her as your server if you visit this restaurant.

“Way overpriced”
Reviewed March 22, 2014

We have never been to a Ruth's Chris Steak House, so we thought we'd try it out since we had a $70 coupon. In total, we ended up paying $349 after application of the coupon and including tax and tips for our dinner. This included: 1 cocktail, 1 bottle of wine, 2 entrees, 2 side dishes, 1 child's meal and 2 specialty coffees. The entrees at this restaurant run around the $70 range so the coupon is basically a 2-for-1 deal.

The layout of the restaurant is very nice - every table seems to be in a quiet location. So, thumbs up for the atmosphere.

The way the steak was cooked was amazing - very tender - cooked just right. My main complaint with the meal was that everything was so bland. If you've ever eaten creamed spinach made New Orleans style, it is amazing; the creamed spinach at Ruth's Chris is just plain old creamed spinach. The steak, although cooked perfectly, was just plain old steak. Having never eaten at this chain before, I'm not sure why they don't add any flavour to the food. Maybe it's a historical thing and they don't like to change their recipes but based on the taste, I'll probably never be back unless someone else is paying for my meal.

Summary: very nice atmosphere but way overpriced if you like flavour in your meals.

“Crazy overpriced”
Reviewed March 16, 2014 via mobile

Only went here as we had a voucher. Food was amazing and the $80 steak was fantastic. Prices are overpriced by a large amount. Would never go back the $80 steak was good but I can get a steak just as good for less then half the price at other restaurants.
