We selected the Gourmet package and were surprised by the very good value of the package. As well as a standard room with a partial view of the falls (obscured somewhat by leaves on the trees), we received coupons for dinner at Remingtons, breakfast at Applebees, a four winery tour and a coupon for Seneca casino on the US side. Only the tips were extra.

Room Tip: Falls view rooms higher up are the best.

Went to the Falls for my Birthday in September. Stayed one night. Hotel is older and looking a bit dated but they had a great package deal. Room was on the 6th. floor, so we didn't see much of the Falls.Trees should definitely be trimmed back on the other side of the road. The package was great. $129..Got dinner at Remington's (owned by the hotel consortium). they had a shuttle service but we decided to drive..ten mins. & no parking charge. The wait staff brought us both icecream/chocolate desserts and sang for my birthday..Mine had a candle..a lovely moment. The package included a hot breakfast at Applebees' on the property..had to walk a few steps outside. Also had a wine tasting tour for 4 Ontario vineyards, and we received a $50 coupon for the Seneca Casino on the US side. We went and signed up as new members. They gave us cards with $25 each, and another $20 each for new members!! $45 each..We had to use it there.. couldn't cash that it. We were novices..never gamble.Babes in the woods..:-) Ended up winning. $27 for me, and over $70 for my husband! Still haven't spent it.:-)
I would suggest you take passports with you, in case you decide to cross the border. Check online for border crossing times. A great package deal..even included WiFi..( Why do so many hotels irritate travellers by charging for it? aargh..)
We had fun using up all the package coupons..:-) I had a great Birthday with my hubby!

Room Tip: It's worth it, if you wait for a package deal, off season. If you can get a higher room with your...

Fantastic location and view. We specifically paid for a Niagara Falls view, but didn't expect to see what we got. We had thought that we may be able to see the falls if you squashed your face upto the window, but what we actually got was a full picture window with outstanding views of both the Canadian and American falls, the Rainbow bridge and more. Room 1319, best room as far we know separate sitting area when you come in which might suit families as it had another TV. Bedroom area had two large queen beds, a table and two chairs at the picture window and another TV unit. Worth paying the extra. Hotel itself wasn't very environmentally friendly, towels were changed every day rather than let the guest decide. They also took away the soap when it had only been used once! We only stayed two days, but enjoyed ourselves. Parking also available on site.

Room Tip: Room 1319 overlooks the falls.

We went up for the weekend and I have to say the view and the room were spectacular. We loved being so close to the falls, and we really took advantage of the location. We were however, seriously disappointed with breakfast. Without explaining anything we were given a voucher and told to walk across the lot to Applebees. I never, EVER, under any circumstances, choose to go to Applebees for breakfast. They treated us poorly, had no choice in food, and what food we did get was absolutely disgusting. It was a major turnoff, and if we ever return to the area we certainly will not be taking them up on breakfast. Do yourself the favor and go elsewhere.

Room Tip: The 19th floor was perfect.

After a bad experience at the Embassy Suites next door we moved tot he Oakes hotel. The hotel has less floors but we got a 2 storey suite on the 14th floor. Some of the decoration was a little tired but the room was clean, roomy and had an excellent view of the falls. Reception were extremely helpful and offered lots of advice and assistance. No restaurant but the Applebees next door was good food, value and service. You can purchase a meal plan at the hotel to get a discount too. Car parking is self parking and very competitive at $15 per day.

Had a great view of the falls and the room was pretty clean, not impecable but clean enough. When we arrived we were asked if we had made reservations for the included restaurant. I told them I was advised it wasn't necessary when I booked; the reply was that this was not true and they would have to look to see who took my booking. That was it. I was left with unacceptable times for dinner so gave up our free dinner for this first night. I later discovered that for some reason the restaurant takes very limited reservations, I guess they are anticipating a huge crowd showing up! My second surprise was when we were told that a $50 damage charge would be put on hold on our credit card. I have never had this happen, no matter where we have previously traveled. We are in our 50's, not exactly the type that may destroy the room. I also think they are doing their guests a diservice by not including a sign in the elevator indicating which floor has the observation windows. We ran into someone who had no idea it was available and was disappointed that he had been riding the elevator to no avail.

Room Tip: we had an excellent view on the 19th floor but the windows are certainly in need of a cleaning.

This was my first trip to Niagara Falls. We were on the second floor of the hotel. Trees were in the way of seeing the magnificent falls. If considering this hotel, keep that in mind that you have to be further up to see the falls from your room. Probably at least floor 9. Anyway, we had a package from the hotel which included two nights, two breakfasts, and one dinner at a place called Remington's. The dinner was superb! Extraordinary! We also found the hotel staff mostly, to be very helpful. From this spot, my husband and myself were able to walk all over the area. Lots to do and see.

Room Tip: Enjoy yourselves in this town. Ask staff for local eateries. We were told about a great restaurant b...
