I stayed at this hotel this weekend after purchasing a $60 voucher (for a 2 night stay) from dealfind.com. Sounded like a great deal at the time but we definitely got ripped off. We checked in late on Friday night (around 11:30pm) & ended up with a room in the corner on the first floor - I believe it was room #163. Which was fine, except that the heater didn't work (only the fan; it was only circulating cool air), our TV didn't work, the lights in between the 2 double beds didn't work, and the sliding window didn't lock. I need to mention again that we were on the ground floor & the hotel isn't located in a particularly great area. Also we found crumbs & hair on the blanket in one of the double beds. We didn't complain, as we were essentially only paying $30/night, however even at this extremely low price, we felt as if we did not get our money's worth.

Also, on the 2nd night of our stay, we were woken up at 4:30am by 2 Niagara Falls police officers, who were investigating a "domestic dispute" complaint which was called in from one of the other hotel patrons. This was obviously not the hotel's fault, however it speaks to the type of clientele that this establishment attracts.

Overall I would NOT recommend this hotel to others - even at a discounted rate, it's not worth your money.

We (my husband and I and our 2 small children) stayed at this hotel on the weekend. We were excited at first because we found such a great deal, but it didnt turn out that way.
The walls of this hotel are paper thin, so you hear ever single noise coming from outside. It wasnt too bad because as it go late there wasnt any noise but the rain. Then at 2am the people in the room next to us decided to blast their tv so loud that i could hear wood for word what they were watching. my husband got out of bed to call the front desk and tell them what was going on, luckily they told the room next to us to lower the volume. Hoping to sleep, about 10-15 min later the front desk called our room to tell us they had dealt with it. Why did they have to call us if they dealt with it? So by now both children have woken up and no one wants to go to sleep. so at 3 in the morning we packed up the car and ended our vacation early. I went to tell front desk we were leaving, they offered me another room, but you try getting 2 kids back to sleep after all that, or she gave me a 5 buck off coupon for next time we stayed there. Next time? there will never be a next time. with 2 little kids I would rather spend $100 bucks more a night and actually be able to get some sleep. I would NOT recommend this hotel. It would be better to sleep in your car.

I was down for a wedding that was held at the Americana. It was great because it was within walking distance and was MUCH cheaper. The room had good space and everything seemed to be clean and well kept. The staff was very friendly and helpful if we had any questions. And a bonus was that there was free wifi and Tim Hortons is right across the street :)

We checked in late at night and the staff at the front desk was very welcoming and friendly. We stayed for 3 nights (Friday-Monday) and unfortunately were either kept up or woken up in the wee morning hours by loud guests, slamming doors, and car engines. The rooms are most definitely not soundproof, and every little sound carried through the walls. We also tried to turn on the heater on a chilly night, but after a minute the entire room smelled like burning hair. We also noticed that there were stains on the towels. The wireless internet connection was very spotty, and when we notified the front desk about it, they could only suggest that we come to the lobby to use the public computer.

Free breakfast was a nice perk, though the offerings were very bare bones. The location is very convenient, free parking is a nice plus, and the shower's water pressure and temperature were good.

Overall, we had no major complaints, but with all the other options on Lundy's Lane, we will probably look for another place to stay next time we visit. The price at the HoJo Express is good for the wallet, but in the end you get what you pay for.

My husband was actually on a short business trip to St. Catharines but we decided to make it a mini vacation and take our three adolescent grandchildren (visiting from Japan) to see Niagara Falls. We didn't want to pay too much for two or three nights, but we wanted to be close to the falls and have a place with a pool, preferably an outdoor pool. We also didn't want to pay for parking. This place met all our needs. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. It is an older facility, but the room was clean. Carpets in all hotels are suspect as far as I'm concerned unless the carpet is brand new or people take off their shoes at the door, which just doesn't happen in America. The air conditioner was old but I happen to like the white noise it provides. It's in a business area and everything we needed was close-by. The pool was clean and convenient. They have a continental breakfast which would have been fine but we wanted a full breakfast and went out. I would definitely recommend this hotel to folks who want a bargain.
