Ramada Niagara Falls by the River

Revisited the falls for a short overnight stay. The hotel has a good location and was reasonably priced. We upgraded to a king whirlpool suite purposely as my wife is recouperating from spinal surgery and a whirlpool bath would be beneficial. The bath leaked around the tub enclosure and onto the floor.so much that we shut it down and cleaned up the floor. Water control knob face plate was loose , as was the bathroom shower head.. This all suggests poor maintenance. The room was fairly clean and the bed was comfortable.. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast and comfortable, clean eating area. Have stayed at this hotel before, but will look elsewhere when visiting again. We did report our experience to staff at front desk.

you need to go there for the right reasons....if your looking for a quite, cozy, simple, economical and relaxing vacation, you would be hard pressed to find a better location.

It was clean (and my family is very picky), and had everything the average person need's, and the free hot breakfast was a big bonus.

The price we paid was amazing, shop around, various websites like Expedia have different prices, many times cheaper then calling the hotel itself. Right now Wagjag has an amazing offer.

If this is your first time to the Falls and you want to experience everything the Falls has to offer, then stay at the Hilton or Sheraton, somewhere with a view. This location if a few kilometers away from the main attraction....or, if your on a tight budget, stay at this hotel and take the bus to the main attractions. The other option is to drive, if you don't mind walking, some of the paid parking spots are fairly cheap.

Overall, great place to stay - there is a reason why many rate this hotel a 4 or 5

I did not find it as "dated" as many others have mentioned, although it's obviously not a "newer" hotel

Room Tip: If you don't smoke, avoid the 2nd floor - I personally asked to stay on the 4th floor, just in c...

The quality/price ratio is very high for this hotel. Starting from good and convenient location , with easy access to Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake, with close proximity of bridges to US. Continue with spacy, clean and well equipped rooms, with fresh odour. Then: quite satisfying breakfast, with good choice of carbs and proteins (I missed just yogurts). Complimentary wireless Internet with not bad speed. Everything was very pleasant, and I don't know what I would say critical about this hotel

This was a bit below the normal standard of a Hampton Inn. The location is not in the immediate area of the falls however the price was unbeatable at $56.00 per night. The falls are a short drive (about 2 miles) so if you are looking for a mostly clean affordable place I would recommend this hotel. The positives; the price, good breakfast, courteous staff. The bathroom was clean except one of the two toilet paper rolls had these brown yellow stains on one side (we skipped using that one and I included a pic). The most bizarre aspect of the bathroom was both the sink and toilet are set very low to the ground (I included pics). My daughter is 5’4” and it hit her thighs, made it very awkward to use the sink in any capacity. However the bathtub is elevated about two feet off the ground, just very awkward (hot water and pressure was very good). Also when we showered the ceiling which is very low became saturated with yellow water droplets (kind of gross) so my husband had to wipe down the ceiling. I did not see any mold as reported by other guests. Additionally there a few seams in the wallpaper that were coming apart and some poorly done patch work (pics included). There is no refrigerator or microwave so I would not recommend for more than a nightly stay or unless you are on a really tight budget.

Pros: Hotel is a short drive from the falls and Clifton Hill. WEGO stops are next door and across street, depending on direction you are going. Room was nice. Breakfast was good and staff in breakfast room was very helpful.

Cons: Smoke alarm went off in our room when we turned heater on. We called front desk to tell them everything was ok and they said they didn't know about alarms if they happened inside the room, only when they got to the hall. That seems like a safety issue to me. They suggested we wrap in blankets instead of using the heat - are you kidding me??? We had requested a handicap accessible room, but did not get it. We were told they didn't think we needed it, so they gave the only one they have to someone else. Pool is up a few stairs, but there is a handicap lift. However, the entrance to the lift is blocked by large plants, so I don't know if it works or not. I tried to give these comments to the manager before checking out of hotel, but was told a manager would not be in for 5 hours.

I would have like to give this hotel an excellent rating because it is good, but I think some of the safety/handicap issues need to be handled.

Our overall experience was very good. a few small problems but the staff went above and beyond to correct the problem. The vending machines would not take money so staff went out and purchased a drink and brought it to our room. The one problem we had was the door keys. BUT we did not go back down to have them corrected. We were always on a mission and did not take the time to even mention it.
