I travelled to Niagara Falls by train from Toronto, and wish I had driven there as I did 18 years ago, as once you've seen the Falls, that's all there is to do. I'm not impressed how they turned the town into some tacky tourist attraction, it's not necessary. I mean you wouldn't stick a funfair at the side of Stonehenge would you?

Every shop, bar and restaurant you go into, the prices are inflated, plus parking is extortionate, what a shame about the town, but the Falls are wonderful to behold.

We have been here 3 times and have always enjoyed our stay. Be sure to pay extra and get a falls view room at the Sheraton or Marriott. It is worth the extra money. Niagara Falls is geared to families - plenty of arcades, miniature golf places, museums, ice cream places and even waterparks. The Maid on the Mist is a great tour and there are some nice places to eat. Great mix of different ethnic groups that come from all over the world to visit. Just be prepared to wait in customs for a while. They have a nice zip line also.

The mist will get you wet.
Great views all along the sidewalk.
The illumination at night was nice with fireworks at 10pm. We felt the fireworks were mediocre.

Drinks and food were quite pricey at all park restaurants.

An amazing place to visit with loads of history surrounding the falls and the hydroelectricity it creates. There are several options to do including boat trips and behind the falls. Depending on your time, choices are wide. The walk beside the falls has lovely gardens. Definitely best view from the Canadian side. If you come over the boarder by car, you will need either American or Canadian cash to pay, your passport and any other visas. If you have time, Niagara-on-the-Lake is a beautiful town to visit also.

Both were impressive in their own way. Absolutely amazing.

Highly recommend doing the Adventure Pass if you can get a good deal on it in advance of your trip. The Pass helped us schedule and miss some long lines. There is some duplication in the pass, hence suggesting the good discount in advance.
