“Unacceptable”
Reviewed May 5, 2007

We stay in Niagara Falls every year -- this was our first time at the Radisson (and our last). We were travelling with friends and they put us in totally separate wings of the hotel even though our reservation specifically requested we be close by. Our room was filthy. Crumbs all over the bench, the bathroom mirror was disgusting, the toilet would not shut off, and there was no Kleenex in the bathroom. I called down for Kleenex and was told that the hotel had run out of the Kleenex. They finally agreed to move us to another room. It was not much better. Went to take a shower, and the soap was still leftover from the previous guest. Our friend's toilet simply did not work at all. Everytime they had to flush they called the front desk. We needed some change to tip the valet -- they don't have any change at the front desk. Sorry, but this level of service is not acceptable for any traveller. I definately would not recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Niagara Falls.

I'm a AAA travel agent, and went to Niagara falls to get a lay of the land to help better serve AAA members when traveling to the falls. This location for the price is great. It is right behind the Marriott/Sheraton and Embassy Suites. Please note, i don't believe any of these rooms have an actual fallsview, just a upper river view.. since the other hotels block the falls. However the location is very easily accessible to get to the falls (During the summer months Niagara Parks offers the "people mover bus to make it even easier for you) The staff is very helpful, you'll be very lucky to be helped by Lee a valet at the hotel. He was especially nice and friendly to my family, always willing and eager to help! The room was very clean and tidy. We booked a family suite city view, this room had 2 queen size beds, a small sitting area with a pull out couch, which we didn't use but we did have enough enough room to put a crib in there for our daughter and not disturb her while she was sleeping. The room also came with a nice size mini fridge and microwave, and small table for dining, the food is very expensive in Canada, so if your a family on a budget i suggest packing a cooler, bring some drinks and snacks and save yourself some money!! The bath room had a special little treat of a 2 person jetted tub. My three year old though this was very cool during bath time, and after the kids went to bed mom found this very relaxing after walking all over the city. Please understand this hotel isn't within walking distace of the falls however the incline people mover is within walking distance and is $2.00 per person each way and drops you right off across the street from the falls. The property also has a nice (but a little small) indoor heated pool, and exercise room, game room and plenty of dining options on premisis. I hope you found this review helpful, i'll be writing another about the Americana Resort if interested.

  • Liked — The staff was friendly, the room had a lot of great amenities, the location was great, Niagara is an easy city to get around
  • Disliked — The one down fall of the location your view is of 3 other hotels, i was hoping to have a better view..

We stayed at the Radisson Fallsview in June of 2005 with our 6,4 and 9mo. old children. It was one of the few hotels that allowed us 5 people in one room and the view for the price we paid was excellent. The children enjoyed the heated indoor pool and it was nice being so centrally located without being too much in the crowded areas. If we go back to Niagara, this is where we will stay again.

We stayed one night here during the rainy Labor Day weekend. The room was expected for the price we paid. Everything was clean and worked. The beds weren't the most comfortable but it was fine for our short stay. It is in a convenient location but because the weather was so terrible it was nice to have a car. It would have been miserable to walk everywhere. Overall we had a good visit and no problems with the hotel.

We stayed at the Radission for New Years Eve 2006. Overall, we found the hotel to be average.

Parking is $20 and is extremely limited. The hotel was very busy and we were fortuante to grab the last parking spot. Otherwise, they did have a valet option, but I'm unsure of the cost.

The lobby was fairly small. They have a small store selling souvenirs. A Pizza Hut, Tony Roma's, and a coffee shop were also on site. The hotel did have a small pool. It looked fine, but overlooked the parking lot and the lobby so it had no privacy.

We stayed in a Cityview Junior Suite. The room was non-smoking. The hallway reeked of smoke, but the room was fine. The couch and carpeting had some stains, but overall, the room was fairly clean. Bed was uncomfortable (not a sleepnumber bed like Radisson advertises).

The hotel is located near the Fallsview Casino. We were able to walk to the casino and there were some restaurants within walking distance. This hotel is NOT near Clifton Hill so do not stay here if you plan to spend time there. You'd have to drive to get there, and parking is expensive everywhere in the city.

Overall, a decent stay, but there are better hotel options in Niagara Falls. Both of Sheratons and the Embassy Suites offer better rooms for very similar prices.

I booked this hotel on priceline for $70/ night so I guess I can't complain too much. I would strongly advise against paying anything more than that. There are several things wrong with this hotel:

- the hotel is in desperate need of a renovation and a good cleaning. Furniture is old, beds and mattresses are absolutely awful. Everything feels old and dirty.

- staff are poorly trained in making guests feel welcome. They made us feel like criminals for having used priceline. This comes across as ignorant, since Radisson must have an agreement with priceline and the arrangment, I would assume, is profitable. For example, I had to fight to get a non-smoking room because they insisted that booking on priceline meant that I don't get a choice on whether or not the room is non-smoking. When I explained that my wife is six months pregnant and that I had serious health concerns about my unborn child being in a non-smoking room they really didn't seem to care. There answer over and over again was that I shouldn't have used priceline. I was confused and continued to argue. After arguing and talking to a manager they grudgingly gave us a non-smoking room. I am still confused as to why, as fellow human beings, they would want to put a pregnant woman in a room that has been smoked in.

- maid service is lacking. Dirty washroom and a very superficial cleaning was done. Again, I think this is a training problem.

Overall - if you can get a cheap deal on priceline then staying here may be ok, but go in with very low expectations.
