“Best family hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2012

Our family of 3 kids ages10,8 &4 stayed at this hotel for the first time in July. We were thoroughly impressed by the reception desk staff. Many hotels have front desk staff who are not overly friendly, so this was a very pleasant surprise! We stayed in one of their family bunkbed rooms and were satisfied with the amount of space for all 5 of us.
We ate our breakfasts at Perkins Restaurant which is attached to the hotel. The food was generally good, but for those looking. For healthy breakfasts we suggest you go elsewhere. Their menus consisted of mainly sugary, fatty &salty menu items not so appealing first things in the morning.
We had waterpark passes to Fallsview water park and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We have stayed @ Great Wolf Lodge who's waterpark is very similar. The Fallsview seems to be a good alternative if you're looking for a change from the animatronics @ G.W.L..

Again, can't say enough about how much we enjoyed Skyline inn and we highly recommend it to families with kids.

We booked the Skyline Inn last minute through Hotwire who claimed that it was in the same class as a Doubletree hotel - definately not!!! It was more like a Holiday Inn or Days Inn. We were looking for a romantic couples weekend at the casino and ended up getting slammed with family vacations and tons of kids. The room was clean and updated. It was large but had a "deja vu" back to the old motel days with the windows facing the hallway courtyard. A bit too pricey for what we were expecting but probably a good value for families.

like the other review say, it was a little noisey bt rooms, and not well insulated. I had some bad tennants over me, who stayed up till 2 am with the kids jumping on and off the bunk beds every 5 min, bam! bam! i thought the fierworks were lasting forever.
the courtyead was very neat to have. courtyard #2 has movies for the kids at 8pm every night. and the water park is lots of fun.
oh, something good about this hotel, the inroom coffee was actually good! pretty rare find !
lovley place for the kids, safe for famillies.

Room Tip: no pool here, but there is the water park, and one staying here can go to shereton pool, crownplaza...

My wife and I along with our two 3 month old twin girls recently stayed at the Skyline Inn during a weekend overnight visit to Niagara Falls. That said, here's what we took away from our experience:

first impression/arrival - Welcoming and warm. The Skyline was actually quite a bit larger than we expected for an "inn", and seems enormously popular with families given the amount of kids pouring in and out of the lobby when we arrived. Probably not the kind of place I'd initially recommend for a couple seeking a romantic escape, but the place did seem to have an upbeat, friendly and positive vibe about it.

Front desk staff - very friendly, helpful and efficient, no complaints here. This is a relatively busy hotel on the whole so you might encounter somewhat of a queue when checking in/out, depending on the time of day (we arrived at 4pm and the place was buzzing). The woman who checked us in was very pleasant and accommodating . She even took the liberty of placing us in a "quieter" section of the inn so our two 3-month old infants would not stir when they slept. Top marks here, both checking in and out.

Location - absolute prime, right in the heart of Niagara Falls and literally only a couple minutes walk from Clifton Hill, but enough of a distance away not to get absorbed by the noise and clatter of the crowds. Fantastic location, easy to find.

Rooms - Clean and comfortable sum it up best. Nowhere in Niagara Falls is particularly cheap to stay unless a one star suits your needs, but we found dollar for dollar, the Skyline was a super value with recently renovated rooms that include a fridge, coffee maker and upgraded bathroom. We stayed in a room close to one of the enclosed indoor courtyards contained within the inn, which we found added both a unique and relaxing atmosphere (a comfortable place to kick back and unwind in when not within the confines of your room).

Extras/Amenities - Plentiful complimentary bathroom supplies, coffee and towels, but difficulty obtaining internet access through their wifi at times (access seemed to be a little spotty). There's also an emormous "skywalk" path that leads from the interior of the inn to the massive indoor public pool across from it, something that seemed incredibly popular with both the adults and kids alike.

The Bottom Line - Very pleasant overnight weekend stay and consistent with the generally positive reviews its received on Trip Advisor. I can see this hotel serving as a great base for exploring Niagara Falls and its tourist attractions with a family. Overall, The Skyline Inn is a solid choice and certainly worth a recommendation given its value, location and our positive experience while there. Families will love it, however, couples might find it not so much their scene if seeking that ultimate romantic Niagara escape.

Room Tip: Try asking for one of the courtyard rooms for a more unique experience. Also, given that this hotel...

LucyCaroline was correct, you could hear the other people in the other rooms of the hotel, their children were very noisy otherwise i enjoyed my stay, my children love the water park.
Upon leaving and returning back to New York, I noticed on my Visa statement that the hotel billed me twice, but my bankers quickly rectified the problem. I emailed the Manager of the Hotel, but unfortunately he never got back to me, what ever.

Room Tip: Get a court-side room.

We stayed two nights at the Skyline Inn and the location was perfect. Connected to the Fallsview water park which the kids LOVED. We could walk to restaurants and the falls. However, the hotel is so noisy. It seemed as if there was NO sound proofing done. We could hear people next door talking at a normal volume and could understand what they were saying. There was also lots of noise coming from upstairs (footsteps). The guests were all considerate of each other, but you would seriously have to whisper to not be heard in the next room. We were traveling with friends and the guest next door to them coughed all night. I guess if you can sleep through loads of noise and your kids are very quiet so as not to disturb others, than this hotel is fine. The room was very dark as the only window looked out to the common internal courtyard. We didn't want people looking into our room as they walked past, so we had to keep the curtains closed. If I were to return to Niagara Falls, I would stay at one of the other hotels connected to the Fallsview waterpark instead.

When we first got there the front desk employee, Lucy(i) - unsure of the spelling - told us that we were not able to get the 2 queen rooms that we booked but then proceeded to tell us that we are getting an upgrade to a room with 2 queens and bunk beds. With two kids (6 and 4) - that was a nice upgrade. The front desk employees were very helpful and very nice throughout the entire stay.
The first thing about the bunk bed room is that it is very hot in that room (we traveled recently in July). So we had to get the room temperature to a level where it was comfortable for the girls in the room. That was not a problem. The kids loved the bunk beds. Especially because they had their own little wall mounted TV in their room.
The room overall was clean. The sheets were stained and the curtains were stained but that was not a big deal. The bathroom was nicely redone and very modern look to it. Overall the room was good.
The noise level of the other rooms were loud but there were a lot of little kids running around and excited to be in Canada, I guess!! :)
They had movies for the kids in the courtyard every night and you were able to use the pools in other "sister" hotels. We used the one in the Hampton Inn directly behind the Skyline. It was easy in - just show your room key. They were very accommodating.
The only negative that I have to say about the place is the registration parking. There are 4 spots under the overhang that protect from the weather, but the spaces are extremely tight. We have a Chevy Equinox and that was a tight fit to make turns and park in the registration lots. I would suggest finding a spot under the hotel or just have your passenger get out and register and then park in the Casino hotel overflow parking across the street. It is easy in and easy out. The voucher is $10 a day and you can come and go as much as you want. Park on Level 4 and you will be on the main level with the hotel. I would not park under the hotel unless you have a smaller vehicle or you get a space early when the lot is not as full. Overall, just park in the Casino lot and you will have no problems. It was no hassle parking and very convenient.
You are connected to the water park and there is a nice walkway from the top of the hotel to the water park. It is lighted up like a rainbow at night and is pretty cool.
Overall, the stay was nice and we will book there again!!

Room Tip: Stay away from the courtyard rooms in the summer months. They are louder with the movies and the ki...
