So many others review so many aspects of the actual visit to the Falls/tours/packages,etc, that I will stick with just the hotel experience. We traveled to Cananda (first time) with our 3 children, ages 6,9 and 12 during a beautiful week in mid June, 2005. This hotel wasbeautifully decorated and maintained, room far exceded our expectations. The most comfortable bed I have slept in. Our Suite on the 25th floor was spotlless, lovely, comfortable, huge, and , of course, looking at the Horshoe Falls from our floor to ceiling windows(i mean you are practically on top of them) was breathtaking. Spectacular at night. I founf staff here at the hotel (as well as just about everywhere we went in the Niagra Falls area) to be very pleasant and eager to please. (The staff who 'work' at an all-inclusive BEaches resort we stayed at in Jmaica this past SPring should all be required to stay here for a week to learn the meaning of 'Customer Service"...) Even if yo had 4 children, or brought a grandparetn, etc along, the room would be super. First Room had 2 double beds and bathroom/fridge large desk/dresser/TV and a 'working firplace' Parents adjoining room had King bed.TV,etc, and huge newly -done bathroom.
Ate inthe small ITalian restaurant downstairs, which again was welcoming and perfectly good quality (about 'Olive Garden' level of food). Everyone on these sights goes on and on about the cost, but we found it only slightly higher than our usual cost s of eating here at home in Southeatern Penna/closest to Phila. (Did not use the Main Dining Room with the voucher)
THe package tour was reasonable, very easy to use, and the location of this hotel is perfect for getting down to the Falls/attractions quickly. Our '5-stops pacage was just right for our family/ages. We only used 4 the first very full day, and made the 5th (Botanic Gardens ) a stop on our way ourt of Canada to NY. One problem area with hotel was a non-working fridge when we arrived (had stocked up on juices/drinks before crossing border). The problem was taken care of immediatley, fixed while we were at dinner, with a note of apology for 'inconvenience', and a voucher for an in-room movie. Highly reccommend this for a 3-4 day visit.
NOTE*** the friendly waitstaff informed us that we were visiting during the 'BEst week of the year" (last week in June). Weather was lovely, and Canadian schools were actually still in session--but everyhting is gearing up for high tourist season, so all is open late/fully staffed, etc, yet crowds have really not started arriving. I am sure this went a long way in a great experience!

If your celebrating and anniversary or birthday or whatever, I highly recommend a stay at the Sheraton Fallsview in Niagara Falls, Ontario. My husband and I, along with our 3 children celebrated our 20th Anniversary there and stayed on the 31st floor of the hotel overlooking both the Canadian and American Falls. The views were spectacular and each night the falls were illuminated in colored lights which we enjoyed right in our rooms. We stayed in a family suite which included 2 connecting bedrooms and 2 bathrooms rooms. One bedroom had a king size bed and the other 2 doubles. Both rooms had floor to ceiling windows overlooking the falls. In one bathroom there was a huge glass shower and a jaccuzzi tub. The room also had a refrigerator and cofeemaker. The beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in. They are actually made exclusively for Sheraton hotels , but you can buy them for your home thru the Sheraton website. The hotel has a candlelight dinner in room service which my husband and I enjoyed the first night. The staff set up a table with linens, silver and china right in front of the large windows and we ordered our dinner which was brought to us promptly at 8pm as requested. The staff lit candles on the table and turned on the fireplace (which though electric was amazingly realistic looking). We dined on steak and lobster tails which was excellent and at 10 pm there was an amazing fireworks display over the falls which happens twice a week in the summer. The hotel has a couple of restaurants . One has a very nice breakfast and dinner buffet where kids 12 and under eat free with the purchase of an adult meal. Food in Niagara Falls was very pricey, so with the kids eating free it worked out about the same as going somewhere not as nice and paying for everyone. The was an indoor pool, but with so much to see in the area, we never made it there. All in all it was a very nice hotel where you will be treated to lovely views and good service. It definately made our celebration memorable!

We only spent a night at the Sheraton Falls View Hotel in a "falls view" room on 16th floor. The views were staggering from our room and as a consequence we cancelled dinner at the skylon tower and had a candlelit dinner for 4 in our room. I found the room and the service to be excellent, and I would return there again. Will post pictures of the view from our window

We had a great experience here and highly recommend it for families planning to tour Niagra Falls. Be sure to get a room overlooking the falls. The suites are spacious and the views above the falls are simply outstanding day and night. Although we did not eat at the hotel, we had very professional service from valets and bellmen. We noticed that while the Marriott had cars and people stacked up all around the entrance at checkout time, we were able to make a quiet exit without a wait.

Be sure to vtis Niagra on the Lake while you are there. It is a pretty 30 minute drive from the falls area. It's a beautiful town, with lots of boutique shopping and nice restaurants and has the jet boat ride that is really fun. Don't miss it.

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night with my teenagers. We were unexpectedly upgraded to an executive fallsview room on 28th floor and it was stunning. The views were fabulous and the room the best we stayed in during our 2 week travels in eastern Canada.

The took up the offer of take away pizza in the room and this plus the visit to the Maid ofthe Mist and Journey Behind the falls was voted 'the best' by the teenagers. Unforgettable!

Stayed for three nights in a room on the 30th floor. Views unbeatable and service and amenities faultless. The steaks in the hotel restaurant were world class and Gale our server was the most lovely person.

Plenty self parking which in Niagara was a real plus point.

Stayed in an Executive Fallsview Room on the night of July 18, 2005. Walking into our room towards the window made you feel like you stepped into the scene of an awe-inspiring movie. The view was simply amazing, and we were continually drawn to the floor to ceiling, wall to wall windows. The hotel is 300 yards from the edge of the Horse-shoe Falls, and one block from the new Fallsview Casino. The hotel had an addition added on top a few years back. The newer higher floor rooms (24 -31) have only 10 rooms per floor, all facing the falls. The hallways on these floors have windows that overlook the city. Floor 24 is the highest with a King bed. We opted to move from our assigned 24th floor room to one with two queen beds on the top (31st) floor. The rooms on the 24th floor look out over a portion (10 or more feet) of the 23rd floor's roof area before opening up to the falls, which, for us, detracted a bit from the view. (The original part of the hotel has rooms facing the city and rooms facing the falls -- the result is the hotel is narrower at the top.) Overall, the view from the hotel could not be beat.
The room looked and felt like it was almost brand new. It was well decorated, with ceramic floor entry way and bathroom floors. A small (empty) fridge and coffee maker with supplies are in the room for guests.
We had dinner at the buffet in the Cut Above Steakhouse - formerly known as the Fallsview Dining Room - on the second floor of the hotel. It also has very nice views, and is a bit terraced to maximize the overall effect, giving many tables a good view. For C$24.95 the buffet was a good deal, with a salad bar, prime-rib roast beef carvery, many main course and dessert choices. For that price, kids eat free with an adult. We also opted to have the continental breakfast buffet including juices and coffee -- C$11.95 (C$17.95 if you wanted the hot items as well). Food at dinner and breakfast was excellent.
We had excellent friendly and professional service from everyone we dealt with -- front desk, restaurant staff, housekeeping.
Self-Parking in the hotel's lot was $23+tax/night. Includes in-out privileges.
If you have not been to Niagara Falls Canada for a while, you will be pleasantly surprised at how it has been spruced up. The walkways have been fixed and the parks are meticulously cared for. There is a wealth of fine restaurants to choose from. The tacky little places have been replaced by fine hotels and casinos. The Galleria of shops attached to the new Fallsview Casino is beautifully decorated. The old standbys - including the Maid of the Mist boat ride (highly recommended) - are still there for everyone to enjoy.
A couple of minor to-do's for the city to consider: The Parks Commission really should add a walkway from the area around the Sheraton/Marriott/Embassy Suites hotel area to allow people to walk directly down to the Falls area. As it stands now, you either have to take the inclined railway ($2 per ride for a 30second ride), or walk over and around the new casino to go down to the Falls -- a nice walk, but not necessary. Also, for safety sake, there should be cross-walks/lights or more police controlling traffic, to allow people to safely walk across the street to the Falls.
Other area attractions include the butterfly conservatory -- the building is full of a whole range of butterflies that are extremely active. It is a beautiful setting and kids and adults really enjoyed this. Sir Adam Beck Power station tours are now available. Biking along the Niagara River. A multitude of wineries in the area provide tours and tastings.
The people of Niagara, Ontario, and Canada overall can be proud of this world-class attraction not just the falls, but the whole package.
