We stayed at the Lions Head for two days in June 2013. We were looking for a place near to the Lake but far enough away to avoid all the traffic etc.
The Lions Head is a short stroll into Niagara and probably took no more than 10 minutes at a leisurely pace.
We were met by Helena who gave us a the tips of where to go, eat and best times to view the falls. Which really helped us plan our day.
The B&B is quite old but retains a lot of the character you get from an old building, the rooms were spotlessly clean and the breakfasts really enjoyable. Be sure to let Helena know if there are things you don't like as my wife wont eat cheese!! Helena was really kind and went and cooked something else for her.
I would be happy to recommend this B&B to friends, family and anyone else as I am sure you will be as happy as all the reviews suggest you will be.
Thank you Helena.

Room Tip: At peak times book your restaurants the day before if you can, Recommend the Italian Napoli Ristoran...

I was looking for a bed and breakfast within walking distance to the bus terminal and the Falls and I found this excellent one! It was very romantic, clean, beautiful, comfortable, quiet, and close to everything we wanted to see and do. It's a very lovely well-maintained mansion with a wrap around porch and we even had a fireplace in our room. It only took 10 minutes or less to walk to the bottom of Clifton Hill and the Falls. The breakfast was not your typical breakfast, it was fresh, creative, and excellent every day. Helena (the owner) is really friendly, hospitable, and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this B&B to everyone and I would definitely stay there again!

If you're looking for a romantic, comfortable, clean and fascinating place to stay at the fall, this is your choice. Especially if you've never been there, you'll love your staying in a real 1900 mansion. Helena, the owner, is very kind and helps you to do anything you want. And forget breakfast as you do usually for a while, tasting her delicious English recipes.

Room Tip: Ask for the rooms downstairs if you want a little more privacy. Don't worry about carrying showe...

What a wonderful treat to stay at the Lion's Head. Our room was amazingly clean, comfortable and tranquil. The breakfast was delicious. Helena's hospitality is top notch!! I felt like I was at home. If I ever return, I am headed your way Helena, and I will be recommending Lion's Head to everyone!

If you are looking for a little slice of heaven this is the place to stay. I spent three nights at this lovely B&B and did not want to leave. From the moment Helena (the owner) greeted us I knew that our stay was going to be a memorable one. Prior to our arrival I had called the owner to indicate to her that we would be arriving late in the evening; after 9:30pm and she indicated that she would leave a note at the back door for us regarding our accommodations. However, upon our arrival at 9:50pm, Helena was there to greet us and give us information about several nice restaurants that would accommodate us at that late of an hour. Also, she indicated that the neighborhood was very safe to walk at all hours of the night and that her B&B was in walking distance to the falls, casinos, etc.; we never had to use our car to going anywhere. Helena is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to; the history of the falls and surrounding areas, tourist attractions to see, where to dine, festivals and theater productions and if you what to go off the beaten path to experience something different. Plus she makes really great hand written maps to assist you in getting from the B&B to your destination.
There is only one word to describe Helena's cooking and the breakfasts that she served during our stay; YUMMY!!! Our rooms were tastefully decorated with plush linens refurbished antique furniture and unusual decorative pieces that are reminiscent of a savvy traveler and not to mentioned that the B&B is immaculately kept. Upon our departure I asked Helena if I can come back next year and work for her for free...for that little slice of heaven.

Room Tip: All rooms are excellent and tastefully decorated.

Stayed here several weeks ago (August 2013) for one night and had a great experience! The house itself was beautiful and masterfully decorated, but the best part was Helena (the hostess/owner), who made it feel like a home away from home. She gave us recommendations on what to see and do in the area, and made an amazing gourmet breakfast. All of the guests ate together at one table, and so it provided a unique and special experience getting to know people from across Canada and the US. We happened to get the upstairs 2-bedroom suite, which was all that was available for the one night we were staying, and it was amazing! Full of windows and light and a view of the Niagara River banks. The decor was what I would call "French chic" and the bed and bathroom linens were soft and luxurious. We had no issues with our stay here and will absolutely recommend this to family and friends.

Eight of us stayed at Lion's Head B&B for 4 days and 3 nights and it was amazing! We enjoyed the wonderful food and the accommodations were great; and, check out the front porch! It was the place to relax in the morning with coffee and at night with a class of wine. The Hostess (Helena) was engaging and a pleasure to be with; she made our stay even more enjoyable. She knows the area extremely well and her recommendations for food and wine were exceptional. We cannot wait to return. If you are traveling to Niagara Falls, you need to stay at the Lion's Head B&B.
