“Great location!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2012

We purchased a Living Social deal and stayed for two nights. The location was amazing for the price!! We couldn't see the falls directly but could walk everywhere within 5 minutes. There were tons of places to check out on the main roads, so there was plenty to see and do and eat! The hotel itself was in the middle of a much needed renovation. So there was a little dust and a few workers each day, but overall you could tell they were using those Living Social deals wisely. The breakfast buffet was just OK, but with the coupons you got one free. I plan on visiting again once the renovations are completed.

Reserved a king room with falls view. When we got there, the room had two beds. When I returned to the desk, she put us in the next room which was a king, but there was a large box obstructing the view. We asked to be moved to the other end of the hall. It was supposed to be room 318, but for some reason, it was labeled 818. Not sure what this room is reserved for, but there was oriental writing on the door and the room was decorated with oriental theme. It had at jacuzzi, but there was water laying in the bottom and there was constant water running in and we couldn't shut it off. The TV had terrible reception and the remote didn't work most of the time. We got new batteries from a maint. man, but it didn't help. We also told him that one of the lamps had a knob missing and we couldn't turn it on and off. He said he would bring us a new one, but we never saw him again. The bathroom was so small you could barely turn around. I bumped the mirror next to the bed, and a box fell out from behind. Evidently someone bought a pair of fishnet stockings and didn't want anyone to know?? We did have some good laughs over all, though.

we were a bit leery when i booked this hotel, it seemed so inexpensive. we were so surprised, it was more than clean, it was immaculate, the bed were comfy, the room was great..it over looked the gorge. there was a balcony. the staff was friendly. and it was very quiet.. they were also booked that particular week end, i will be back!!

Room Tip: ask for a river view

We spent a Sunday night here (much cheaper than the more popular Saturday night), Rooms in general, quite dated, but comfortable and clean. The whole experience was ok except for the staff at check in. Most unhelpful and never even looked up at us once while we were actually checking in. Michael's is situated on River Road and on the second floor you get a nice view of the Niagara River and if you stretch your neck, a view of the American Falls. This was once a bustling area of Niagara Falls, but since the new Casino has been built, it feels a bit dowdy and unloved. There are still attractions nearby, incuding the orginal casino and Clifton Hill, so all is not lost!!. Overall for the price we paid it was worth it and I would go again:)

The state of the building is terrible... not sure how it is still considered structurally safe. Once I pulled around back to park I noticed portions of the balcony's/building crumbling (hunks of concrete on the neighbouring property)

The bathroom is so outdated, heating system is outdated, there are water stains EVERYWHERE - loads of leaks! Condensation on EVERY window. Lower ceiling was dripping during breakfast!!

Upon booking the room I was told we would have a balcony but we DID NOT! No Riverview either... fibbed there too!

The room when we arrived had a horrible stench of urine. To the point of me wanting to turn around and drive home. A short time after checking in I discovered the cause of the smell - the previous guests had left a bag of soiled diapers/garbage under the bathroom sink which was not look after by house keeping.

I will admit it was cheap, we had a bed and shower but that was about it. And if you are looking for a decent night sleep pack your own pillow the ones in the room are horrible!!!

After checking out and paying for the bill, two days later I notice a charge of $8.93 on my VISA- it apparently was for 2 bottles of water that were nicely laid out on the dresser with the complementary coffee. No price tag on them or note indicating there would be a fee for drinking them so I assume it is there as part of the room. I used this to drink and make coffee with. I just called the hotel and they informed me that the bottles were tagged $3.99 each - plus tax??? It is water!!! Insane!

The location is great but there are way better deals and hotels to be had in Niagara Falls... I don't recommend anyone stay there!

So it was all a bit dated. But very clean, good location. If you just want a bed and shower, then it does the job.
We had drinks at the Hilton, lady in lift complaining about her room being dirty. I did think huh, at least we paid $40 and the room was clean.
