I was very disappointed with my recent stay in Niagara Falls. Based on reviews, I chose this hotel for a short getaway. The best thing I can say is the staff is great. We asked for an upgrade, got it with no problem. We had a family emergy, had to leave early and they did not charge us. The lounge is very nice and the location to the Horseshoe Falls perfect. Views from rooms spectacular.
The bad things were my 1st room was filthy. Floor looked as though it was never vaccumed. Hot tub and sheets had hair all over them. GROSS!! However, a maid offered to clean room for us. Thanks, but why was it not clean in the first place. We requested another room, which was older, but on a higher floor. Again hottub had many hairs in it. Stains and smears all over the doors and handles. DOUBLE GROSS!! Cleaning staff, although friendly, needs some training and supervision. Clearly, they are not doing the best job they could.
Last, we ordered room service. It came on time and the staff was friendly, but the fruit with my breakfast was rotten. Just one more thing to cap off this less than satisfing stay.
Overall, I was not happy. For a Marriott property at $240 a night, I expected much better. There are far to many properties in this area to risk chosing this one.
