“Room with a View!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 18, 2007

My husband and I stayed at the Marriott Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel for 4 wonderful nights to celebrate his forthcoming 40th! It was a decision we did not regret!!!

The room was very impressive and large (although decor perhaps slightly dated and not to our taste), we had booked a Junior Presidential Suite with double Whirlpool Bath and the view over the Falls was totally amazing. We had a great view from our 17th floor room!

We did not dine in the hotel so can't comment on food or service but I'm sure it would have been fine, we were spoiled for choice with the huge selection of restaurants within walking distance.

Tip...avoid the Skylon tower revolving dining room if you suffer from motion sickness, I booked this as a special dinner for my husband and I think I ruined the moment as I couldn't cope with the revolving restaurant!!!!! If you don't suffer from motion sickness it is highly recommended as superb views and fantastic food and service!

If you are going soon, you will have a fantastic time, I know we will go back as there is so much to see and do and we would probably stay at the same hotel. Enjoy :-)

We spent our 25th anniversary here and thought the place was outstanding. We took the two night package with breakfasts and the $75 voucher. After reading other reviews I was expecting to be hit with massive taxes but didn't find this to be the case. The breakfasts were good and the meal we had was fabulous. Incidentally, we mentioned it was our 25th anniversary to the waitress and got a free dessert complete with chocolate written decoration. With regard to the parking, I'd like to see anyone get valet parking in London for £20 for two nights! Of course mini bar prices were a rip off, but aren't they in every hotel you've ever stayed at? Just make sure you bring your own bottle of champagne and any snacks you want and you'll have a great time. All the facilities were great (pool, steam room etc), spotlessly clean and check in was a breeze. Didn't bother with their tour just sorted ourselves out and had a great time. Only thing that caught us out a bit was ice in the river means that the boats stay on the land!

This was an excellent hotel! We stayed only two nights (wish it had been more). We had an amazing view from our room and the place was clean and comfortable and the rooms were big.
Few tips though:
1. If you use a shower cap (the shower is fixed) bring your own as they don't give you any.
2. Do not go to Vinny's the american italian eatery. The food is terrible and service dismal.
3. Do go to Coco's for pizza and live music

The worst experience ever! We actually didn't stay in the hotel for the following reason.
Booked the 2 night package directly from the Marriott website and got the confirmation. Arriving at the hotel at night the valet parking attendance asked us to check inside before we un-load our luggage cause they are overbooked.
Inside the hotel the attendance tried to sell us a package worth 80$ more per night which we refused and than she told us they are sorry but our room had water damage and it is not available.
They offered us a similar room in the hotel next door (Embassy suite) and we were told that we are going to get the same package at the same rate.
Well yes we got the same package with 269$ difference in the rate (each one of the hotel kept pointing the finger at the other).
The Marriott duty manager (Rayan) was un-willing to help... it is like we didn't exist for them.

Stayed here for 3 nights whilst doing the tourist bit in Niagara and absolutely loved the hotel. Would have rated it 4.5 if I could. I had a king size room with whirlpool bath on the 9th floor with a fantastic view of the falls. I was lucky to get a special deal which included free vouchers for the buffet breakfast and a $75 voucher towards an evening meal in the hotel. The buffet breakfast was a great idea because you can eat as much as you want which is good if you are going out for the day or don't want to spend a lot on extra meals. I used the evening meal voucher as well and have to say that the food was fantastic so good that I ate there and paid full price for a meal. All the staff were wonderful; very friendly and helpful. The pool area was great and not at all busy although the patio area was not open which was a shame. The only minor niggles I had were that the window in the room only opened about 3" I guess for safety reasons and one member of staff was obviously not happy in his work and made it pretty obvious, not through his actions but his words. I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

  • Liked — The room and view
  • Disliked — No balcony or window that opened fully.

If you look and compare all the spa packages in Niagara Falls and Niagara-in-the-lake, the Marriott Niagara Falls Fallsview Hotel & Spa has the best rates found in their website. It includes the fallsview room for 2 for 2 nights, 2 breakfasts for 2, 1 spa service & $75 dinner voucher & more.

We began our stay here badly, as being in a windy area, my wife lost her scarf blown by the wind. But the staff went looking for it and found it and even cleaned it for us. The staff also upgraded our room. We had a fallsview room on the 2nd highest floor which was breathtaking. My wife also enjoyed the spa as we took a spa package from the internet. We enjoyed the breakfast and dinner.

We did save money by following the suggestions of getting a PAC card at the casino and parking there. If you want to save more money, go to a restaurant several blocks away from the strip and the falls.

Truly one of the best hotels in Niagara Falls, and as to this date, the best spa package you can get in Niagara Falls or Niagara-in-the-lake.

  • Liked — Service, quality of hotel, food, spa and the packages
  • Disliked — It is still on the expensive side.

My wife and I decided to spend our 1 year anniversary in Niagara Falls at the Marriott Fallsview. We got a 2 night package with a fallsview room, hot tub, and fireplace with breakfast both mornings and dinner one evening for about $300. The room and very nice and very romantic and the food was decent. The hotel was within walking distance to the new fallsview casino. Having been to Niagara Falls a few times, I would advise to go off season and take chances with the cold weather because the crowds are a lot smaller and the rooms rates are at their lowest.

Very enjoyable stay!
