My family and I stayed at the Marriott Fallsview recently and the whole experience was fantastic. We arrived in Niagara Falls at around 11:30 am and drove right to the hotel. As soon as we pulled up to the lobby, we were taken care of in every way. The luggage and car were taken care of immediately. The Marriiott parks your vehicle in their private parking lot and if you want your car, they will bring it right to the front door for you !
This is definately a plus because parking in the area is very limited and also expensive.
The lobby is very impressive. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Marriott also has a courtesy desk in the lobby where you can buy tickets for various activities pertaining to Niagara Falls.
The room was fantastic. We were on the 11th floor in a family suite. The room was VERY clean and had an upscale feel to it. The beds were VERY comfortable and the view was BREATH TAKING ! I have posted a couple of photos that were taken from our room. The pictures speak for themselves.
The food prices were high, but that's to be expected when you are in a tourist area. Heres a tip, take your own beverages. There is a mini fridge in the room to keep them cold.
The Marriott Fallsview was supurb in every way. From the arcade to the gift shop, this hotel screams CLASS. Do yourself a favor and give the Marriott a try...you wont be sorry.

Newer, clean hotel with great views of both Horseshoe and American Falls from a "fallsview queen room". Carpet and bath clean. Well-staffed especially compared to American side employees. You will be charged if you disturb anything in the minibar.
Also recomend Casa Mia, an italian restaurant off the main drag, for a freshly-prepared dinner with live jazz.

We are just back from a 3 day trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto from 20-22 Aug. We spent the first day at Toronto and the next 2 days in Niagara Falls. I've attempted to share some of my most beautifull and not so beautifull experiences at Marriot Niagara Fallsview hotel and the Naigara Falls itself.

The Marriot Hotel at Niagara Falls:
The stay at this hotel was one of the best experiences of this trip. This trip was my gift to my wife on her first b'day since we got married.First of all the view from this hotel was breathtaking...worth every penny that I spent on this hotel. We came in early and wanted an early check in. The guy at the front desk was very courteous. He gave us a room with full view of falls on 7th floor(which was what I had booked i.e. room on floor 3-7). I asked him if he could upgrade us to a higher floor. He gave us a similar room(with full falls view) on the 12th floor at no extra cost. The moment I entered my room I realised I didnt make any mistake booking this hotel. Look at some of the pictures I took from our room.

Apart from the view the room itself was spotless with nice beds and spacious bathrooms. The tourism info desk at the lobby was also quite helpful. There is a $130 tour that covers major attractions in 5-6 hrs with air conditioned private transportation and priority entry at the attractions. But we decided to go on our own. On hind sight I think guided tours are better since its quite a long walk between different attractions and the public transports or driving on your own can be a pain.

We had a one night package in the hotel that included $75 dinner voucher at the Terrapin Grill and buffet breakfast for 2 the next morning. The info on the hotels website(niagarafallsmarriott) of the Terrapin Grill restaurant is a bit misleading. The restaurant is on the mezzanine floor and none of the tables has a great view of the falls. The food is passable and very expensive. Next to the room the best part of the package was the buffet breakfast that includes 'made to order' omlette.

Transportation and Parking
If you are driving then park for free at the Fallsview Casino thats just a block away from Marriot. As mentioned by other reviewers I had applied for a Players Advantage Card on the Casinos website. After reaching Marriot just tell them you like to check in and then go park in the Casino. You can just leave the car in the front and give the keys to the guys. After unloading my baggage and checking in I came back drove to the Casino. At the main entrance I told told the guys I have a PAC card. They directed me to the self parking lot. The Casino has a huge 10 storey parking lot and you just go in and park for free(no card/ticket required while parking in). Before taking out the car just go in the Casino collect your PAC card by showing your photo id and then just wave the card to the security at the parking lot exit. He will let you out for free. You can come in and go out as many times as you like for free !

For local transportation I used the Marriot shuttle that was included in the 1 night package. The shuttle frequency is every half an hour, so it would help to know the schedule from the front desk. The shuttle stops at the Marriot,Fallsview Casino, Embassy Suites ,Niagara Parkway Drive(Table Rock),Clifton Hill, Casino Niagara and Courtyard Marriot. This will cover transportation to Maid of The Mist(get down at Clift Hill and walk), Clifton Hill , Jorney Behind The Falls and the Table Rock(the best point view the falls from and also where the Journey Behind Falls entry is). But if you have to go to other attractions like White Water Walk, Whirlpool Aerocar, Butterfy Conservatory , Whirlpool Jet Boat ride , Niagara-on-the-Lake etc you can drive. The parking at these places is free.
Of the other alternative public transportations People Movers seems to be the best and it covers most of the attractions except for Whirlpool Jet Boat ride(which is in Niagara-on-the-Lake about 15-20 km from the falls). If you buy the Niagara Adventure Pass you can ride on People Movers for free.

Attractions :
If I were to rate the attractions and rides that we did at Niagara it would look like this (starting from the top rated)
1)The falls seen from Table Rock - Table Rock is the best point to see the falls from. But you can also walk along the Niagara Parkway Drive and stop at various points to see the falls.

2) Maid of the Mist - not to be missed at all...when the boat is at the nearest point in front of the falls you cant help but be overawed at the majesty and magnificence of the falls. I would definately repeat this ride everytime I go back to Niagara.

3) Whirlpool Jet Boat ride - this is for the more adventurous. They take you on a open speedboat that does all kinds of thrilling manoeuvre on the river. The boat rides through level 6 rapids, whirlpools, twists and turns while you are sitting in the boat for about an hour. Be prepared to get wet completely even though they give you the life jacket, splash suit, sweaters and wet boots. Our guide(who rides with you on the boat) told us that each one on the boat gets about 7-8 tonnes of water splashed on you during the ride. Our boat was a twin engine with a 1600 horsepower. With so much power the boat runs at about 70mph at max speed and its design keeps everyone on the boat very stable even while doing the most intricate manoeuvres. Keep about 2.5 hrs for this ride (includes driving to/from Niagara-on-the-lake, washing/changing after the ride, safety instructions etc). You have to make reservations in advance for this ride on their web site. The start point for the ride is at Niagara-on-the-Lake, about 15-20 kms from the falls. You have to be at the office about 30 mins before your scheduled departure to do some paperwork and safety instructions.
Tips : If you want the most amount of water splashed on you sit on the rightmost in rows 2-3.
For the faint hearted there is a new Jet Dome ride in which you are covered from allover and remain dry throughout the ride.
This is an expensive ride but for a group of 10 or more there is discount.

4)Niagara-on-the-Lake : this seems to be one of the most beautiful hidden treasures of Niagara. The drive to Niagara-on-the-Lake very scenic with Golf course, butterfly conservatory, botanical garden ,Floral Clock, number of vineyards and various scenic points on the way. Even if you dont visit any of the attractions the drive of about 15-20kms itself is worth doing. If you like photography you will love this drive.

5) White Water Walk - this is a boardwalk by the river bank and is quite romantic. An elevator takes you down about 100 ft and when you come out there is a boardwalk covered with trees. There are a couple of scenic points along the boardwalk. The ride takes about 45 minutes including the elevator wait time/ride.

6) Whirlpool Aero Car - this is a typical aerocar and is good for photography. Its just a 10 mins ride.

PS: We could not do the journey behind falls even though we had booked tickets, but got late at the whirlpool jet boat ride. We were refunded the money paid after producing the tickets and the receipt.

Money Savers:
1)If you are a non-resident visiting Canada, you can claim the GST/HST taxes(which is 7% ) paid on your accomodations and the goods bought in Canada. So retain all the receipts for hotel and goods bought. You can get the refund on the spot at the duty free shop on the Canadian side just before the Rainbow Bridge that takes you back to the US. You can also claim the tax refund by mailing in the refund form and the receipts after leaving Canada for upto one year.
For more info and refund form see the site

2) There are various Bed & Breakfast accomodations in and around Niagara Falls. These are very nicely maintained(by the families that live on site) with all basic amenities and at beautiful locations(esp the ones that are on the way to Niagara-on-the-Lake). Most of them are less than $100 CAD with breakfast included. For my next visit I would definately check out these B&Bs.

Read all the reviews and booked a J Presidential Suite with Falls view.

The good points:

Check in was quick. View from room 16 floor was fantastic.

Bad points:

Floor was not clean and some items from previous guests were behind the chair.

The price of items in the room bar was ridiculous -25 dollars for small bottle of cheap wine.

The keys to our room were not working and we were constantly locked out of the room. We were up and down in the eleveator almost every time we went to our room.

The attitude of the front desk staff has got to be the worst I have ever experienced. We were blamed for putting the keys on bags and pockets and close to mobile phones and therefore interferring with magnetic strips. We were sent up with new keys.

After 3rd day and countless trips to front desk they sent a maintenance officer to take the lock off the door leaving the door open for an hour in the evening when we were trying to get showered and dressed to go out.

When we complained to front desk staff the guy did not lift his heard from his computer and muttered something about them not being able to predict the movements of guests. We complained again at check out and not one word of apology for inconvenience.

Whilst I accept there will always be unaccountable technical difficulties it shows a lot about how hotels view their guests by their attitude and response to problems. A simple apology is all that was required. This place is like a production line. We are on holidays to relax not deal with surely staff.

We would never stay here again. We got a good view but at a price. Not worth it.

My wife and I just got back from the Marriott a few days ago. We loved everything about our trip. The Marriott was a great hotel. The service was exceptional, and our room was immaculate. We had a wonderful view. We asked for foam pillows instead of down because of my allergies. When the maids came to switch them, they also brought a foam comforter, as it was also down. We ordered room service our final morning to take advantage of the view, and it was great! The food and service was wonderful! I would highly recommend the Marriott, and we can't wait to go back. There is an Outback Steakhouse just across from the restaurant. We got takeout and took it back to our hotel to enjoy the view. The food was good. On the flip side, I would avoid TGI Friday's in the Embassy hotel next door. The food was OK, but a bit overpriced. It was loud, loaded with hyper kids, and the service could have been better. If you're a AAA member, buy a Niagara Falls/Great Gorge Adventure pass before you go. This gets you into four different attractions for less than $30 per person. You can also exchange the tickets in this pass for timed tickets to three of the four attractions. Do this at the little information booths down along the falls. We had to push the people in the booth a bit...they weren't real helpful. Go to Maid of the Mist first thing in the morning. We didn't have to wait! Enjoy!!!

Hi all...This is a review of our experience at the Marriott Falls View...

First of all... the view alone is worth staying at the Marriott...nuff said
If you want a breath-taking view I strongly suggest the Marrriot Fallsview Hotel...rooms located on the 10th and above floors... Awesome!!It was such a romantic view Day or Night...

Here we go...here are our recommendations for those who are on a budget or Not...

Hotel Accomodations...
We had a Fallsview Whirpool room with a king size bed...the hotel was very clean and nice...Cleaning staff was friendly But some other staff were not so friendly, (one example: we were in an elevator and a bellman entered and did not even say good morning or anything, not even a head nod)...I just feel all staff should greet all guests they are encountered with and be courteous and approachable...This happened with maybe a two staff members we saw in the lobby/elevator etc, but Otherwise i have no other complaints...
We recommend booking your (average/internet deal, etc) room in advance and then upgrading to a higher floor if available at the front desk (if in your budget)...we stayed on the 15th floor which was amazing for just an extra $35 US per day..(originally we were on the 7th). At times marriott (most hotels) may even offer it complimentary, it just depends on how booked they are...Rule of thumb: It does not hurt to ask...On the most part, We've gotten it complimentary...

The best value for parking for your rental car is at the Casino Fallsview Hotel parking lot...which is only a 3 to 5 min walk down a couple of blocks on Fallsview Blvd...basically go to the casino and sign up for an advantage card and that's it...you show your card upon leaving and the $10(CDN) fee is waived(It's free!)...OR you can pay the Marriott Valet fee of $16US/$20CDN per day...Its what best suits your style, and budget...

Currency Conversion...
I recommend that you have at least $25-$50 CDN cash just in case for little purchases...best value for the conversion is at the Casino...otherview I strongly suggest you buy everything via credit card...they will give the best market value exchange...

We ended up taking the Marriott private group tour which consisted of the following: approx 35 mins at Journey of the Falls; Skylon tower for about another 35 mins;Maid of the Mist for approx 1 hours; Shopping & Lunch for about another hour; and finally the Butterfly conservatory for about 35 mins...It included a narrated history tour of the Niagara area as well...

My take on this...the cost is $115 US per adult...I believe, half for kids above 6...Is it worth it YES & NO....You can actually do all these tours for about $50 or less per person on your own (not including parking at each)...however you don't get as much of a history lesson nor personal service from and to each location...The tour was insighful, no waiting on line, comical, and very timely...but if you're on a budget then go on your own or do your research because there are other tours in the area, that are way cheaper, we saw that after the fact...

Furthermore...you must do the Journey of the Falls and Maid of the Mist...The Skylon tower Tour is only required if you don't have a great fallsview room...also if you're into nature...the Butterfly stop is very very interesting...be prepared to engage with live butterflies landing around you or on you...literally!

First off take a walk or drive to the nearest 7-Eleven located at Ferry St and Stanley Ave or any local convenience store...Why? You'll notice when you walk in to your hotel room, that there's a pretty basket full of snacks and goodies...but after seeing their prices...you'll Know why i say go to 7-Eleven and buy your snacks/water/soda etc...Keep in mind: Hotel snacks / Room service are for your convenience So you pay for that convenience...

Best place for your budget is: Country Chalet Buffet ...Its local and Very cheap place for budget goers (6.99 CDN)...don't expect much from it...HOWEVER...we do recommend the Minolta Tower Breakfast(right next door) which we paid $8.99 CDN for a breakfast buffet and a view from the 26th Floor...a very nice touch...We chose the am fallsview dining...There are plenty of Breakfast offers in the area...Its your taste and your budget...Marriott's breakfast buffet was I believe about $16 US,approx... So its really on you...

That's on your own...Lunch wasn't a major deal for us... We ate as we moved about...

There's pretty much everything within the vincinity...so here's what we did...The first, night we ate at copacabana brazilian steak house(right across the street)...WOW...if you're a meat lover then this is the place...you will get your money's worth...all you can eat with a touch of taste testing all night...highly recommend! Avg $36 CDN per person...
Second night, we went over to Cliffton Hills and ate at Kelsey's...a better version of applebees and TGIF...great food lots a variety and prices were fair....Since we were hanging out at Clifton Hills, we chose here...
Third night, we stuck to what we knew...and drove over to Pizza hut(one our favorite spots)...since we have a great fallsview room we didn't feel the need to dine at those places providing evening fallsviews dining experience... We enjoyed our view from our room...Make sure you see the fire works by 10p on weekends...

Night life...
We did not really party except on our own in our room...But we did see a few spots in Clifton Hills (Little Vegas) that seemed happening...The place to hang out is "Clifton Hills"...For families, they have simulated rides, haunted houses and other interesting things going on...Its bright and lively , and busy with people... We had a blast!!

During the am, On our free time we went out within the area to outlets to shop...So if you are daring , and will just take directions out the area...We went to the Canada One Outlet (Local )to the niagara area and to the Rainbow Bridge Prime One Outlets in (USA side)...We also went to the Imax Theatre showing Niagara myths and history..It was informative , and great close up views of the falls!

We definitely intend on coming back to the Marriott and to do more activities like the helicopter ride, the whirlpool walk and cable car (I think that's what its called ?)...We would also like to go to the Niagara by the lake Area, and Marine land. There just was not enough time ...That 'll be saved for next time ...Hope this was helpful...Have fun, because we certainly did!!

As stated in the rest of the reviews the view was incredible. Had a room on the 21st floor.
From a UK perspective and compared to London, prices were OK. Valet parking for CDN$20 is good value. Breakfast at c.$25 adult was expensive compared to other places we visited but quality was good.

Following advice on this site spent more, but went on Elite tours from hotel. Considered it a good decision - air conditioned bus, guided tour. Took almost 6 hours but saw Niagara and did tours - Behind the falls, Maid of mist, Butterfly park, Skylon tower and stopped off for food. Also given tickets for the "rapids" to do at your leisure.

if you have kids and only there for a limited time, worth considering - jump queues and taken to all the main attractions - no hassle.

TGI's next door to hotel which again compared to UK was reasonably priced and with kids it was perfect.

Staff very helpful - a great place to stay.
