“Breathtaking views.....”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 24, 2013

Arrived hoping that we would indeed have a great view as we had booked a falls view room. When we opened the door we were NOT disappointed. Our room was lovely we had a huge spa tub that you could sit in and still see the Falls.
The staff were lovely and the whole hotel was welcoming and relaxed.
The location is good and you can be down in the thick of it within minutes. If you don't want to eat at the hotel there is a wealth of restaurants on the same street so if you are travelling as a couple or as a large group there is something for everyone.
My only one criticism would be the parking fee of $30 per night but to be fair that seems to be the going rate so maybe that is a small thing to pay to have the views and location of this hotel.
I would recommend it to anyone visiting the Niagara Falls area..

The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly . The view from room 2023 on the 20th floor was breath taking. looked out over the Horseshoe Falls. Nighttime view with fireworks on Sunday night was fantastic. The Terrapin restaurant was very nice although warm. Buffet Breakfast or ordered from the menu . Good size helpings if ordering .
The train or lift that is outside of the hotel and run by the city was out of service so we had to walk down to the Falls. No fought of the hotel. Buses stop out front for those who would rather ride.
The hotel is located within walking distance of most things and I would think you have to visit at least once as It was overall a very pleasant visit .

The short version - we stayed in a Fallsview Family 2 Queen Suite and loved the room! Entry into the room is where the bathroom and 2 queen beds are and through the French doors is the separate living space (with a separate tv) overlooking the Canadian Falls. We could see both Canadian and American Falls from our gigantic window. Definitely pay for a fallsview room or you might as well stay somewhere cheaper, but I don't think you need a high floor above 12. It was spectacular. I would give it "excellent" had breakfast been included for the high price (close to $400 all in), and had the valets not been so aggressive and had the front desk staff not tried to get even more money out of me with a false promise of a room ready by 2:00 and a higher view for an extra $40 (it wasn't ready at 2:00). I give the hotel credit because last summer tripadvisor was ripe with people unhappy about aggressive valet and scamming front desk staff but I don't see that this summer so they must have changed policies. Kudos to them for making things right. Overall, if we ever choose to go back to Niagara Falls, we will stay here again and that is the best compliment you can give.

The longer version - we stayed in Hamilton a night on the way in so we could splurge on this room. Our goal was to "get in and get out" of Niagara Falls - to see the sights without spending all of our cash. We parked just up the street at the Casino for $5 per day. We walked around the shopping area of the Casino while waiting for our room to be ready and ate at their food court. Something for everyone. We walked outside the casino taking in the sights from their property - lovely.

After check-in at the Marriott, we paid for and took the incline system (seems to be down this summer) located outside the hotel down to Table Rock where Journey Behind the Falls is located. If you have to choose between Maid of the Mist and Journey, choose Journey. Throughout the Journey you could read the history of the Falls and also the place you step outside and stand next to the Falls is breathtaking.

We then walked the sidewalk down to Maid of Mist, stopping for photo ops and gazed at the American Falls along the way. Maid of the Mist was fine. It is more to say we did it than anything. It is a boat ride past both Falls and back and you DO get wet, even though they provide ponchos. We walked to the corner after "Maids", found a cab and gladly paid $10 to get back to the hotel. We are walkers but after getting whipped around by "Maids" and "Journey" we were tired. I think walking the path back up the hill to the hotel would have been more than we could handle. The ride through the park on the way back was pretty.

After quick showers we walked outside to find dinner and there were several choices. We chose Applebee's because it is tried and true for the kids and not too expensive (about $5 more per entrée than we pay at home). We saw the Hilton rope walker on the way to dinner. Fun. We then went back to the room and watched the fireworks and enjoyed the view from the room. Niagara Falls was done. We didn't miss not seeing the other touristy things. The only thing we wish we would have done was walk the Rainbow Bridge. It was raining the morning we left so we weren't gamers. Enjoy! It is a pretty place. We are glad we took the kids. Tie the trip in with going to Toronto, if you can.

All the rooms face the Falls so every room has a view. We walked in as first timers and were given a complimentary upgrade to a family suite(2 adults and 2 kids) which gave us unexpected room to relax and spread out. The pool was large and clean w/ plenty of towels. The morning breakfast was pricey but that's the Canadian economy, and the food was excellent for kids and adults. There are plenty of places to eat within two blocks, Applebee's, IHOP, steakhouses, Italian restaurants. The bus stops right in front going to the main ticket and visitors center for everything in the area(Maid in the Mist, Under the Falls) and passes thru the tourist entertainment area called Clifton Hill(restaurants, minigolf, ferriswheel, shops, arcades). There is a tour company(Magnificent Tours) in the lobby that is very expensive but they hit everywhere and have 'fastpass' access to the main attractions where you go in a seperate entrance and cut the line to the front. That alone was well worth the price! There really was no downside to this hotel!

Stayed in a premium falls view room (2320). The view was incredible over horseshoes falls, the American Falls and the river. Lovely sitting area with a fireplace. Clean, comfy and friendly, and well pricey, but we were in Canada for only one night. It was worth the splurge!

The hotel was nice, the staff friendly and the restaurant good though pricey. The access to the Falls from this hotel is difficult right now because of construction. When this is finished, it will be a 5.

I have only good things to say about our stay at this hotel. First off, the view was amazing. I literally was transfixed by it and could not stop looking at how awesome both the horseshoe and the American falls are. It was late afternoon when we checked in and there was intermittent rain. We had a junior suite on the 24th floor that was large with a huge picture window, a jacuzzi that had windows so you could see the falls from the tub and shower too. We ordered room service and ate watching the falls. We watched the fireworks from our room and it was very impressive. I kept the curtains opened all night so I could see them if I woke up. We used the gym and had breakfast at the buffet and dinner at the hotel. The staff was so nice that when I requested robes, they brought them immediately from the spa with a smile. I would have liked to stay longer to use the spa, but we were there for 2 nights and the weather was so beautiful that we chose to be outside. I have always wanted to go see the falls and our stay at Marriott Fallsview only enhanced the trip.

Room Tip: Best views are from 15th floor to the 24th floor.
