We had decided to take a short three-day vacation in Niagara Falls and were looking for a nice place to stay with a view of the falls, when to our surprise I got a Groupon offer in my email one morning for the Marriot Fallsview. The offer was for a falls view room with a bunch of extra wine tasting, free breakfast, meal discount, free transportation coupons thrown in.

I'd read a number of reviews about the place on this site and others and had figured out that even though using the meal discounts would cost you more money than you'd save, the rest of the package made for an exceptionally well priced stay in a great hotel. If you stick with the Groupon room, you'll be located on around the 6th or 7th floor, but when you check in you will be offered to upgrade to a larger room on a much higher floor with a fireplace and a jacuzzi tub for an additional $20/30 night. We'd already decided to do that before we arrived since we knew we weren't going to be spending a few hundred dollars to take advantage of the dining 'discounts.'

Boy, were we glad we did. The view through the picture window that made up most of our outside wall was amazing. We never did use the fireplace, and even though we took advantage of the WeGo bus passes to shuttle around the area, we still did an awfully lot of walking up and down hills, so although we initially didn't think we'd use the jacuzzi, we did; each night. It sure felt great to lay back in the tub and relax and let the hot water beat against legs that were tired from walking all day long. The room was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The place was spotless, and housekeeping was great.

The breakfast buffet in the hotel's dining room was what you'd expect at a nice hotel. It was quite good with lots of choices including waffles, pancakes, several meats, fruits and an egg station where you could get made to order omelets or fried eggs. I don't think, though, that it would be worth the $22/person price tag if it didn't come free with our room package. We were always seated at a window, but the view was only okay, especially compared to the view from our room. The restaurant is on the mezzanine level, so you really don't see much of the falls.

For other meals, skip any coupons that might come with your package. They have limitations on them that will cause you to spend at least $150 for two in order to take advantage of a $40 'savings.' There are lots of nice restaurants within walking distance including one at the other Marriot just across the street where on 'date night' you can get a comparable meal for two for just $50. There are also chain restaurants like Outback, TGIF, and Tony Roma's right next door. And, the buffet in the nearby casino has a much better view of the falls and is only around $20 per person.

If you get any wine tasting coupons with your package, you can get two free glasses of wine per person at the small lounge near the registration desk.

Oh, almost forgot. When you arrive you'll be offered valet parking at $30/night, which is about what you'd expect for a nice hotel in a prime location, but if you don't want to spend that, there are some public parking places not too far away that you may want to check out.

Also, be aware that the funicular that is located right behind the hotel and leads down to the visitor center at edge of Horseshoe Falls in undergoing renovation. So, what would otherwise be a pleasant little ride up/down the hill to get from/to the falls, will be a half-hour hilly walk or a half-hour trip on a WeGo bus.

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel and felt it was well worth the price. The view was spectacular from our 22nd floor room, but I had to rearrange the furniture on the first day so that we could enjoy it. Also, housekeeping arrived late and failed to replace our tissue box. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. As Marriott Elite Rewards members, we used the Concierge Lounge for complimentary breakfast each morning and found it good but small and crowded. Starbucks in the lobby was perfect for us, although we are early risers and it doesn't open till 7am. My recommendation to anyone visiting this area is this hotel purely for the view. I would have liked a more extensive restaurant menu (why is there not more fresh fish served?) and a casual dining bistro on site. But overall, this hotel made our visit memorable.

Just came home from a 3 day trip to Niagara Falls. We stayed at this hotel on the 14th floor. Our room had a great view of the falls..located directly over the Horseshoe falls. Gorgeous view!! Spectacular! The room was spotless, spacious, had a large bathroom, and the bed was very comfortable. We did not eat at the hotel at all so I can't review the food. Check in did take a long time BUT it was NOT because of the hotel staff but because of the many many questions the guests in front of us were asking. The only complaint I have about this hotel is that they do not have a parking lot that you can freely park in, but instead you are forced to valet park..at $30 a day!!! That would have been a $90 bill for us! So I HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest parking at the casino and walking to the hotel as the casino is FREE (yes I said FREE) as long as you sign up for their players club and do a little gambling. Even if we had not done this, the parking at the casino was only $5 and $10 dollars. (Parking is not timed at the casino, you pay upon exiting so whatever the rate of the day is, is what you pay total...no matter how long you have been parked there!! Quite a deal!!) I have been going to Niagara Falls for many years and have to say that so far this is my favorite. Enjoy!

Room Tip: For a perfect view of the falls...the higher the floor the better!!

it's the best place to stay in niagara no doubt. Its all about the view. The place is typical marriott fare. There is a musty smell in the room .The fridge in our din not work and after trying to repair it for a longtime they brought up a new one.service is average. There is a Starbucks in the lobby .Its not about the room its all about the view.

Room Tip: All the rooms have a view of the falls so ant room is okay.

The Fallsview offers a terrific view of the Falls and even has a vent below the window that admits the sound of the the Falls if you desire. The Jacuzzi tub in the above standard room is very large and its large in room windows bring the room and the view beyond into the Jacuzzi. Separate bath is a nice feature. The hotel is in the midst of everything.

PS: request a room floor 15 and above for best view of the Falls and the river running to it. Bring binoculars. If you plan on staying for a couple of days, we suggest that you purchase the pass that offers bus service, behind the falls tour and the surround movie Falls experience. Very reasonable and a savings on buying these separately.

Room Tip: Choose room on floor 15 or above. We stayed on floor 19. The standard rooms are smaller and not equipped with a Jacuzzi.
