The family had a great time on the Jet boats. We had the choice of which location and there are coupons available.

We bought the flash drive, brought it home and took it to two different places and they were unable to download the pictures and videos.
So disappointed.

This is the second time that my husband has been and it was a first for me. I was quite nervous for the trip, but agree after doing it that it was AWESOME! You get to learn some interesting facts about the area while also being able to enjoy the thrill of class 5 rapids. The guides can really make or break the experience..We had Gabby as our Trip Leader and Mike as our Captain, couldnt have been happier with them. Great energy and really made the trip much more enjoyable. We will definitely be back again when we visit the Falls again. Would recommend to anyone and thank you for making our first anniversary that much more memorable!

By far our FAVORITE attraction in Niagara Falls (ON).

The center is fairly easy to find - parking is limited, but they have an additional gravel parking lot around the side (just ask!). This is NOT accessible via the WeGo transportation - but is not hugely far from the last WeGo stop. If you do not have your own car, I would take the WeGo to the end of the orange line and hop a cab from there. Its about a 35 minute drive, but it would only be about 7 minutes from the last WeGo stop.

What to bring:
- A towel and change of clothes for afterwards
-$45 for the personal photo, still shot and highlights video (very reasonable priced for tourist attractions and a cute remembrance!!)
- NOTHING you don't want to get soaked!! You can wear sunglasses for the first part but will have to take off hats, glasses etc. for the class 5 fun - there are little pouches in front of everyones seats to keep them secure... don't forget your goodies!!
- If you have a waterproof camera / case for iphones, this is a very scenic 9 mile ride with many photo ops! But remember, you will have to put it away during the class 5s as you will need both hands to hold on.

Prepare yourself:
- You are going to get SOAKED... wear clothes that you are find getting drenched.
- They provide: water shoes, a fleece shirt, a HUGE poncho and a life vest.... the poncho and vest are required - the gross fleece shirt is recommended. Though disgusting and wet, use it, the water is COLD and you are going to experience a lot of it!!
-Plan for about 2 hours... you have to arrive early, the actual activity is about an hour and then time to change and view the video / pick up the photos and videos (* there is a $5 discount if you prepay for the video - it is worth it to share on faceboook with friends or just to have a cute memory of your trip!! It does show EVERYONE on the boat from various angles.

Helpful Tidbits:
- If you want the best adventure, sit in the first 3 rows!! You will have to hold your breathe while you are in the class 5 rapids because you will literally be under a wall of water for about 5-10 seconds... it is AMAZING!!
- There are 6 people per row, so if you aren't in the first 18 and really want to sit in the front, get towards the front middle of the line and when you see the boat filing up, request to wait and start the 2nd boat!! They accommodate the requests as best they can.
- Lockers are FREE at the facility.... so you can lock up your keys, clothes, phones etc.
- If you are under 12 and /or under 100lbs, you cannot sit in the first row (of course along with those with neck or back injuries or heart conditions..

Our driver was Mike - great!!!
Our trip leader was "Jason" (Canadian name) - awesome! Very knowledgeable, funny personality, gave good cues to help everyone get ready for mickey mouses, shake n' bake, 360s and what to do in the class 5s. I would look for him again if we were to return!!

***Touristy 2 cents: I enjoy how this is clearly a tourist attraction but REASONABLE in its pricing for souvenirs ($45 for a video, copyrights to your photos etc is extremely reasonable!) and free lockers.... I like good honest business people who are making money but making it smart!!***

This excursion was recommended by a great friend who did it several months ago when it was much colder-we went last week-weather in high 60's, water temp prob in 50's. The open boat is the only way to go-don't worry-you are given everything you need to stay warm if needed-wetsuit booties, fleece sweater, jumpsuit, and poncho-you will get wet, very wet, yet you will be insulated and comfortable. The boat is open and gives you a great view of the surrounding area. You begin by motoring slowly towards the niagara river from the Niagara by the Lake marina area. Once you get out of the no wake zone-the boat roars to life, and you travel smoothly and quickly several miles up river towards the rapids. Our onboard host was Melissa, who was both fun and informative regarding safety info, surrounding landmarks, and of course, the protocol for going through the rapids. The boat worked its way through class 3 and 5 rapids and handled them expertly. We always felt safe, yet it is an adrenaline rush when the waves slosh over the bow and soak rows 1-3. The rest of the rows get there share too, don't worry. The boat goes as far as the Whirlpool (see the aerocar cable ride as well in that area). We stopped at the edge of class 6 rapids where the river is said to flow at 35 mph. The captain did a great job maneuvering us up and back down rapids, pausing the boat after each rapid run to ensure everyone was ok (which the were). There is a 2 minute go pro shot video for sale at the end for about $45 -just note if you are in the back or middle behind tall people you probably will not be in it (yes that was us). I recommend you bring a waterproof camera with video capability to get some footage (you can't film while in the midst of the rapids but can before and after). Don't miss this one, well worth every penny and you and your family or friends will never forget it. We went family of 4, mom + dad on late 40's and 13 year old, 16 year old-they can't stop talking about it. Tips: bring towel and full change of clothes-they have free lockers and changing room. Where a bathing suit (guys) and under armor or similar quick dry clothes and you will be very comfortable. Our girls wore shorts with bathing suit bottoms under and were fine too. Have fun and don't miss this one.
