We were about half-way through on our Circle Lake Erie trip and spending the day (and night) in Niagara Falls. We like Chinese food so we chose Mandarin, the highest rated Chinese place in town - (and the fourth highest rated restaurant, regardless of cuisine). And it is a buffet - which are not normally favored over menu-only restaurants. This place is now on top of our list of Chinese buffets.
After being seated, they provide you with a hot, moist towel with which to clean your hands. They do this again at the conclusion of your meal. David (his American name), our waiter, was friendly, helpful and attentive. And Mr. Gee, one of the owners (they currently have 22 restaurants in Canada) stopped by twice to ask us if we needed anything and just to chat.
The food was noteworthy for many reasons, including the quality, taste, presentation and variety. I should point out that it cost a lot more than any other Chinese buffet I have encountered - but given the total experience, I believe it was worth it ($50 US, including tax and gratuity).
We look forward to eating at Mandarin again.
