What a total waste of money. The signthey had out side listed all the items they had on the buffet at breakfast however they forgot to mention the fruit was fruit cocktail from a can, the sausagee was overcooked and the muffins were day old. The price was 6.999 for adults and 5.99 for kids and some of the food was ok but not great as it had been out for some time. When we got the bill it was 3.00 for one coffee and 4.00 for a glass of chocolate milk. Total rip off...never again

Bacon = awful, rubbery
Pancakes = chewy, dry
scrambled eggs = typical
Coffee = overpriced
kids cost (3yo & 1yo) = $5.99 each

You've been warned. This place has awful food. The only time you may find this place good is if you're hungover after a night of partying. Otherwise, I recommend visiting the Blue Line instead (5 min car ride from this place) where you can have a traditional bacon and eggs type breakfast.

The only positives are: lots of parking, the lady that served us was quite nice.

The 3 best things about Al Macs Buffet is ample free parking, no waiting to be seated and no one ended up in the hospital.

The sign outside said that breakfast was $6.99 but that does not include drinks. You can’t have tap water because they don’t have water but you can order bottle for $3. Final price is $12.00 per person whether you are young or old. Coffee is $3 and a glass of milk is $4 (the price of 4 litres or 1 gallon at a store). There are no signs or menus to tell you the price of the drinks. You just get surprised at the end of the meal, when they bring you the bill.

It was a scene from Kitchen Nightmares. The selection was far from sufficient for a buffet. There were about 5 of 6 covered trays. The good thing about the food was that it was covered with a big metal cover so you can’t see how bad the food was. You had to remove each cover to reveal what was under the cover. There was two choices for pan cakes, stale old ones that have been sitting for hours and fresh ones with the centre still doughy and uncooked. The French toast on the other hand, was only one choice, stale and old so you needed syrup to try to soften it up so you can cut it and try to chew on it. Bacon was also interested. It was a chewy hard ball of grease. You needed to separate the pieces by hand in order to see the strips. As for the fresh fruit (“items may vary by season” as quoted in their web page), was a large bowl of canned fruit cocktail. “Eggs Your Way (over easy, over hard, boiled, scrambled)” was scrambled. “Country Home Fries” was frozen potato nuggets fried up. “Fresh Baked Muffins” and “Home Made Cakes” must have been the store bought blue berry muffins with no blue berries but blue colouring to look like blue berries. At other fine restaurants like McDonalds, they would have thrown out the food if it’s been sitting for hours. This place must have picked it back up to serve in their buffet.

I generally take restaurant reviews with a grain of salt because really I feel like sometimes people are just looking for something to complain about, but my fellow foodies pleae forgive me. I'm currently paying the price for not listening. Arrived at 730 so the food had been congealing for quite some time. There wasn't even a third of the things that they say they have on their website. One kind of nasty looking soup, a ancient dry cheese pizza, one dish of overcooked spaghetti like substant and an assortment of other gems. Half the food was hard and/or cold, some things were empty and never refilled. I've never been a fussy eater but its probably the worst meal I've had in a long long time. I guess no one ever checks on the bathrooms. Not only was it small and outdated but one toilet had a giant poo in it and the other was stuffed with toilet paper. To top ot off There was a basket on the floor with used sanitary napkins. Just plain nasty, but I guess I deserve what I get for not listening... But then there's a part of me that thinks maybe breakfast would have been better? Definitely on the hunt for some pepto tonight.

The buffet food was fresh but not especially interesting. We were there for a team dinner of about 25. The most annoying thing about this restaurant was that when you ordered water, their policy was bottled water only, no tap water. Then they charge you $2 for it!!
Never heard of that before. That will definitely keeps us away in the future!
