We read the reviews so we had to try this restaurant.
Walked into the lobby of the hotel looking for the restaurant and we were directed downstairs. Usually the eating area is off the lobby but here they have hotel rooms on the main floor and have utilized the basement as a restaurant probably because you can't rent out hotel rooms in the lower level . Interesting idea to generate more revenue per square foot.
The restaurant is well lit, clean and inviting. The staff is excellent. Very personable , knowledgeable and attentive while dinning.
Seems their niche that they promote is " from farm to table" and with a limited menu they promote "pairings " featuring local wineries' products. Nice differentiation from other establishments in Niagara Falls.
Wait staff spends a lot of time telling you what the ingredients are of everything they place on the table, probably to build value in the customer's mind. They deliver a complimentary shot glass of apple sider with some sort of whip cream on top and before they set it down we hear of the half dozen ingredients of this drink. And so it went with the bread, wine, main course and dessert. Before we consumed any item we heard of the ingredients and now a day later I do not remember what they were. In spite of that the food was well presented and tasty.
I had the 6 oz. lamb with a glass of wine. The average bill per person was $ 100.00 with gratuity. We have come to expect those types of prices when the restaurant has a spectacular view of the falls but not one that is in a basement.
It certainly was a dining experience, but the jury is still out if there was sufficient value for the dollar.
