“Room 432”
Reviewed July 19, 2013 via mobile

Stayed in room 432 and had another couple walk into our room. Front desk gave them the same room key. It scared my kids for the rest of the night and angered my husband as he was just getting out of the shower. Called the mgr and she gave us complimentary breakfast for the next morning (which we did and then had to argue to have taken off our bill upon checkout). Air conditioner unit got crazy loud in the middle of the night keeping us up. We were told that the view was the parking lot but to our surprise when we opened the curtains, there were people looking at us from the pool area (good thing we had clothes on). The buffet breakfast on the 10th floor was amazing and the chef making the omelettes and waffles was very friendly. We were seated right at a window with an excellent view of the falls. It was a bit pricey. Breakfast would have cost $60 + if it hadn't been comped.

We booked two rooms and that's how we were able to see that some rooms are awesome, but some other rooms are tiny - the beds face each other (b/c there isn't enough room for the typical side by side), the TV is in between the foot of the two beds and there's hardly any space to walk, both in the room and the washroom.

The hotel is connected to the Indoor Waterpark, Casino Niagara, Sheraton/Adventure City, Falls Avenue and a few minutes to American Falls. The package does come with some fun stuff for kids - although Adventure City/4D Theatre has a bit 'retro' 90s feel to it.

Parking is convenient, check-in was smooth, staff is very friendly, and the hotel is conveniently located to many attractions (very short walk to the falls, Maid of the Mist, etc.). Our room was quite possibly the tiniest 2 bed hotel room we've ever stayed in. While we did have a view of the falls, the window was tiny and not very clean - actually, the whole room could have used a good cleaning - there were finger and hand smudges all over the window and the full-length mirror in the room. The phone in the room didn't work either - I told the front desk about it twice, and I'm pretty sure it's probably still broken. I'm also fairly positive that the thermostat in the room is not actually connected to the air conditioner - despite repeatedly lowering the thermostat, the actual temperature in the room never changed (it was never uncomfortably warm, but a little colder would have been nice). The hotel has an indoor pool, which was a nice feature - and the kids certainly enjoyed it, despite the dank and flickering lighting. This is an older hotel, and it shows it's age. Overall, it was okay, but for the price, we will stay elsewhere next time we visit Niagara Falls.

The lobby is very nice. The description suggests that the hotel has a 1920s feel to it. But in reality, far from the truth. The rooms are extremely small, the air conditioning doesn't work, everything inside looks like it was made/ renovated in the 1980s... the quality of the room is about the same as a 60 dollar a night motel. I am being very serious here.... We stayed 1 night, didn't like it then switched to the Sheraton. The manager at the Crown plaza charged us for 5 nights when in reality we only stayed for 1 night. This place sucks, i wouldn't recommend it. Although staff are friendly, they aren't much help. The crown plaza tends to hire incompetent people without degree's. Very unsatisfied. Would recommend staying somewhere else like the hilton or the sheraton. Though the sheraton is a sister hotel, still much better.

ps: Beds are very uncomfortable! the sheets are very rough on your'e skin!

book in there web site and stayed 2 nights recently (on points) with my family of 4.
I was upgraded to a very nice suite with the most amazing views of the falls (Canada and US).
The staff was excellent…
The room was huge, clean and very inviting.

No need to leave the room to see the fireworks on Friday/Sunday nights.

All attraction are within walking distance… huge water park connected to the hotel.

Parking is $20, but it is to be expected.

I would highly recommend to anyone!

Stayed here on a Groupon. I loved it! Charming older hotel with excellent view of Falls from my room.
I stayed on 8th floor a few doors down from where Marilyn Monroe stayed! They give you a fascinating pamphlet on the hotel history upon checkin.
THey even allow you to have the window open so you can hear the delightful rush of the Falls and feel the breeze in the night. The staff was exceptionally wonderful and helpful. The food/restaurant was Excellent in every way. They seemed to genuinely care about delighting you from the maintenance staff to the chef to the Maitre D. I will definitely return. My Groupon deal was superb. We went to Niagara on the Lake for wine tasting. This was a wonderful surprise to find Napa Valley quality vineyards and tasting opportunities.
Although some may complain about the rooms being older, I found them comfortable, in very good repair and just so nice to see older European style decors.
I stayed at Sheraton a night and would definitely stay here instead for future visits.

Check-in was smooth. When we got to our room (falls view, 1 king bed, jacuzzi tub) the ac was broken and only blowing fan with humid air. The phone didn't work either. We went down to see what we could do and were told there were no other rooms available. Only after making a bigger stink did they agree to switch our room. It was 80 degrees in the first! I was a little annoyed with that whole situation especially because we were on our Honeymoon and spending extra money to stay in a nice room. They did put us up in the very top, corner falls view(best view from hotel) 2-room suite. We were very happy with the switch, and a room with air conditioning! THE VIEW OF BOTH FALLS IS AMAZING FROM THE HIGHER ROOMS. WORTH THE EXTRA $.
No other problems at all during our three days. We dined at the hotels Rainbow Room restaurant on the 10th floor, it was spectacular.
Parking costs $20/day, but you're free to come and go as you please...
Overall, nice accommodations.
