always liked this place but need overhall...looking worn and need a better food from the kitchen as dishes look a bit scrappy

Kind of busy and noisy if you go on the weekends, but they have good music, good beer, and a really nice patio.

When we arrived at the pub, the soccer game was on but there was no sound.
Having ordered our meal and having been joined by our friends, that's when it was deemed a good time to turn up the volume to a level where we all had to shout at each other.
We asked the waitress if the sound could be turned down and they did play with the speaker - there was no noticible difference to the level of noise however.
Our second complaint brought the manager - who basically told us hard luck. She claimed we could go and sit inside and it was quieter in there (a trip to the ladies proved that to be a lie - the place was full of TVs and the sound was turned up to 11 on all of them).
As we had ordered, we stayed and had the meal - stale buns with overcooked lamb burgers did nothing to improve our visit. My mum had the fish and chips and the batter was so overcooked that she cut it all off and just ate the fish. By this point we stopped complaining because our waitress was a sweet girl who was upset that we were upset.
Basically, I recommend this place if you want bad food and a rude manager.

Went with a friend on a Monday night for a beer and dinner. The place was almost empty but for a few beer drinkers here and there. We order some Irish beers and as we started to order the appetizers, the waiter goes " We are out of sweet potato fries, halapeno poppers etc etc". Not a good way to start. So we ordered for the calamari and potato skins, Horrible Calamari !! They were in big lumps and the breading was falling apart and the inside was rubbery. Potato skins were edible but nothing great. The waiter took back the plate of calamari and took it off the bill. We decided to eat dinner someplace else, paid the bill and took off. If you really want to go, go just for the Irish beer on tap and that's it.
