“Very impressive! Great for the family!!”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

Jack Darling Memorial Park is really a hidden gem in the suburban expanse that is Mississauga. The peaceful weeping willows that are surrounded by rolling mounds of green grass are well kept. There is a great playground for kids, along with a sizable splash pad to help keep the kids cool. The change room facilities were very clean for this type of setting, you always wish it could be better, but still respectable. The beach located on Lake Ontario is awesome. The water is refreshing, but the fact that you can go a solid thirty meters or so on a comfortable sand bar, makes the Jack Darling, well darling! There are plenty of picnic tables and there are grills that you can bring charcoal briquettes to have a bbq. There is plenty of space for people to co-exist with paths for bikers, walkers and dogs. It is an ideal setting to get away from the suburbs without having to leave Mississauga. I have told a number of people about Jack Darling since I have visited the park, including people who have lived in Mississauga and the surrounding 905 and they had no idea about the park. It seems that this gem is nicely under wraps. The lack of signage around the entrance and nearby intersections seems to intentionally keep Jack Darling a secret. For a family outing, or just to get away for a leisurely walk on the beach with a great view (of Toronto by the way!) then Jack Darling is a great place to accomplish this task.

“Paradise for children”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

Jack darling park was a surprise to us and actually one whole summer been our family place. Great place for family with small children. It's a park that offers a beach, splash pad, picnic area and playground and they are all close to each other and still have a lot of space for children and pets to run around, play frisbee or whatever that it will keep them busy. Pet were allowed too as long as there are on leash. My only complain to this place was parking (come midday, it can be a long wait to find parking) and the state of the washroom-need serious improvement. The last time we were there, there were construction but even though there were construction it did not affect the beauty of the park. I love this place cause the beach, splashpad, picnic area, play ground, parking lot and washroom are easy access to walk so even the seniors will enjoy this park.

“Nice Park on The Lake in Mississauga”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

This is a very nice park in south central Mississauga. It has a reasonable amount of parking and you are able to find a parking spot at most times.

There is a small playground area and small sandy beach areas that are great for the kids to play in. The small beaches allow you to be in the shade but still very close to the water's edge. There are lots of picnicking spots available for eating at.

This park has the advantage of connecting with the Rattary Marsh and its walking trails.

Rattary Marsh is a definitely a city gem. It is a small naturalized woodland and marsh that makes it appear you are far from the city only when you are 20 meters in the from edge.

There are several trails that take you around the marsh and woodlands, including boardwalks and bridges over a couple of small stream crossings. There are small interpretive displays describing how the marsh works as well as some of the plants and trees that can be found in the Marsh.

This is a great spot in the city to learn a bit about nature and see an actual "functional" marsh. It is excellent for any kids wanting to do environment projects for school, scouting, etc.

For the marsh alone allowing 2 hours is recommended to see it all including some stops on the trails to take in the views, birds and plants.

“What a great little place!”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

This is a nice little park that has everything. It's located in Port Credit & is walking distance to everything.

The best part is starting July 13th & every Friday after until the end of August they have movies in the park. Just bring your blankets, and chairs and watch a movie under the stars!

“Nice park”
Reviewed June 13, 2012

Park is well kept with walking trails and a separate dog park. Wish they would have a separation for large breed and smaller dogs though.
