“The mildewed shower, peeling wallpaper and badly patched ceilings made my skin crawl!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2010

Talk about deceptive pictures...this place really Wow'd us when we saw the photos on the Days Inn website. Unfortunately, reality made my skin crawl! The bathrooms were disgusting with mildewed grout in the showers, peeling wallpaper and patches in the ceiling that were poorly done. This place needs an overhaul! Beware of getting sucked in by the photos on the website, they are NOT reflective of the quality of this hotel! If you're going to be in the area, a much much nicer place is the Days Inn in Brampton (Queen Street) which was extremely clean and well decorated.

Bad smell, 3rd floor room with no elevator. My back still hurts. No breakfast, but it is next to Tim Horton's for breakfast.

This hotel has had the facade updated but that's it. Inside the hotel the reception and rooms are 30 years old and show the wear of that. The Room: front door doesn't close completely without excess force.. Bathroom has tub with enamel coming off, walls of peeling wallpaper, cracked very old tile. Beds: wornout. sheets with holes in them and soiled comforter. .......This hotel should be closed and start over

The hotel is just ok. The room is clean enough and big enough but the service was not great. It took forever to get an iron delivered to the room, 2 times we weren't given enough towels, and the breakfast in the morning was sub-par. OJ watered down 10:1 is not the best way to start the day. Location is ok if you have a car. Close enough to Toronto but far enough away to avoid the high cost.

Not a great place to stay. Ok if it's one night and you are just passing thru. Everything was clean, but the place has seen better days. This place is in need of a major fix me up.
We were just in town for a shopping trip, so it fit our needs. The price was great, and they offer free breakfast. Which is beginning to be hard to find. We didnt take advantage of it though.

The grass area around this hotel was absolutely FILTHY!! It looked as if somone had ripped open a garbage bag and threw trash everywhere. There was even a feminine hygiene product hanging on a tree branch. This mess was not cleaned up during our stay there. The website claims this hotel was remodeled in 2008...if it was it has been poorly taken care of. As others have stated, chipped walls, peeling wallpaper, etc. The staff were not very welcoming either. The room had a very unusual odor to it. The bed was the worst I have ever had in a hotel. I realize hotels use firm mattresses, but the bed and pillows were excessively stiff. I could have been just as comfortable on the floor. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Having stayed at the Days Inn in Barrie we had high hopes for this hotel. On check in everything was fine until we discovered there was no lift, so we had to carry luggage and a small child upstairs.
The room was small, had a very strange smell, and there was damp and black mould climbing up the wall next to the window.
The bathroom served its purpose apart from the bath having no plug so we could only shower. Also we had to keep ordering extra towls as the maid service only left 2 bath towls each morning... (considering the room was for 4 people i found that a tad cheeky).
Also the extractor fan didnt work so the bathroom steamed up within no time.

The breakfast menu was a slim choice and the seating area tiny, many people took the breakfast to their rooms due to no room to sit and eat.

I found the staff polite and friendly, esp the gentleman with the moustache who worked during the afternoons, (he helped solve a few quieries relating to wi fi and directions to the nearest drugs store), although one female recepionist didnt have to much knowledge about the local area or services around the hotel.

This hotel needs a refit as the stairs leading up to the upper levels stank of something strange (maybe urine) the wood work was tatty and needs addressing.
At least the beds were comfy...
