Our group of 18 or so was hosted by someone who did all the ordering for us, in Portuguese. We had the piri piri shrimp and bacalhau with potatoes and egg, as well as a bean, sausage and tripe dish. These were share platters and were excellent. We "blancos" also each ordered an individual meal. The food was exquisite. The ambiance is lovely. It's not getting 5 stars because I found, as non-Portuguese speakers, that we were virtually ignored by the wait staff. Dishes were roughly placed, and roughly cleared. The waiters certainly look professional, but they didn't thrill. We didn't feel welcomed when we arrived (two of us were first) and no one looked up from the bar/host station to wish us a nice afternoon when we left. Food, 5 stars. Service 3.

If you live in Toronto and would like to virtually travel to beautiful Portugal and experience authentic Portuguese dining, Leao D'Ouro (Golden Lion) is the restaurant for you! Besides the incredible variety and taste of all the dishes, the staff and the service is exemplary. I would recommend visiting this restaurant during the week as the traffic is "normal". Weekends require reservations.

We started with the shrimp soup (bisque). I had the sole lightly battered and my friend had the chicken. The bread before the menu was homemade and was very good. For dessert he had the creme brulee. When in the area will definitely return.

Meeting my associates at this restaurant was a great idea. The service was excellent, the food amazing and the over all experience to be recommended.
We stayed there for a few hours, we were relaxed, un hurried and enjoying the flavours of Portugal . A treat! This was during the Christmas Holidays for lunch. I will surely come back with my family to enjoy!
