The Richmond St area of London is an eclectic mix of student bars, foodie hang outs and boutique dining and shops. Mythic Grill - just a half block off Richmond, near Victoria Park - fits in nicely. Located in a heritage-type house the restaurant has been sensitively converted into a cozy and friendly space. A few tables on the outdoor patio front the building, but you are not bothered by the traffic and crowds from Richmond. Inside (a few steps) you are welcomed by friendly and engaging staff. I like linen napkins with dinner, so points there. Lots of traditional-with-a-twist offerings, many of the salads and apps offered in two plate sizes, with options to add a skewer of grilled protein, and vegetarian options, too. Choices generally at moderately reasonable price points, though I found the lamb chop plate (not ordered) and a couple other plates to be very expensive - hence the tag to the more costly end. And oddly, for a cuisine that specializes in doing up lamb right, only the chop plate and a couple of sausage offerings were available, otherwise it's chicken, pork, beef and seafood ( and veggie). But our party quite enjoyed their choices. Wines are also reasonably priced, even with mark ups. Greek, Italian and California wines available by the glass./litre/bottle. A couple of folks at our table started with traditional Greek salads - fresh, tasty ... and so huge, they could easily have been shared by 2-4 persons, as starters. Wait staff throughout were friendly, professional and not intrusive. Definitely a place for a special, intimate occasion, or a glass of wine and a Pikilia platter on the patio with friends.
