My husband and I took our daughter and son-in-law for dinner Sat. night. They are not usually fine diners but more road house and fast food places... However, I think Katana may have converted them!!! We all enjoyed our menu selections, impeccable service and atmosphere. I am confident ALL of us will be back!

My husband and I found this gem of a restaurant on a recommendation from a friend 3 years ago. We go back time and time again and the food is always wonderful! The locations is beside the London airport in a unassuming building but don't let that scary you. This place is second to none. The restaurant itself is small but the flavours are HUGE. The menu changes with the seasons but is always a treat for your pallet. You may have to make reservation if you want a table, but there are seats at the bar as well. Don't miss out!

Katana is well known to the office lunch crowd and reservations are recommended. Small, fine dining, and off the beaten path in an area where there are few good restaurants. Patrons can watch planes land and depart from runways which run parallel to the restaurant (London International Airport).
Sweet Potatoe fries are excellent!

We decided to try the Katana before our recent flight out of London airport. It was our first time flying out of here and when searching for dining options, I came across this restaurant.

It is small, elegant and with a great view of the runway. We arrived without a reservation, but we were offered seats at the bar. As seats become available, patrons at the bar are offered a chance to move to a table.

We had the risotto with pancetta and shrimp and the special of the day which was salmon and shrimp over risotto with arugula. Both were very expertly prepared and were delicious and good value for money.

We decided to try dessert based on the quality of our main courses, and we were not disappointed. We had a bread pudding with caramel sauce, and a chocolate dessert that I cannot remember the name of, but it was similar to a chocolate ganache. Both of them were fabulous and well worth the calories.

It was obvious from the number of people in the restaurant coming and going, and the number of reservations being made while we were there that this restaurant is very popular and deservedly so. We will return.

we were told how to get there by a friend. had to try twice (look for the diamond flight centre). but well worth the search.
the first time we went in, it was in jeans and tees - not realizing that it was fine dining - but were not embarrassed by the staff. kafe does not define the food or the atmosphere.
we ordered appetizers, and then a curried lamb shank and a salmon fillet. i asked for some extra spicy curry for the lamb shank, and the chef happily obliged. both lamb and fish were cooked to perfection, moist and very flavourful - we both enjoyed our meals very much. the wine list is not extensive, but the selections are quite good, and reasonably priced.
it's fun to watch the planes on the runway, and the chefs behind the glass partition to the kitchen.
i hate to recommend it too highly, in case it becomes crowded - but honestly - some of the best food in town. not cheap, but not overpriced for what you're getting.
