We having been living in London Ontario for 12 years now and have tried many of the seafood places in town. We were always looking for the best Halibut in town. My mother in law told us about Kipps Lane Fish and chips 3 years ago. She stated she use to go back in the 70's. Well, one visit and we were hooked. It's a small Resturant and has about seating for about 10 to eat in but the batter is light and the fish is tender. With the halibut, you will get good size piece and then little bite-size piece. They have Kraft Tarter sauce but ask for the homemade Tartar Sauce it yummy good.
If your eating in you will order and by the time your order is ready there will be a table for you. If you are taking out especially during Lent order ahead and prepare to wait. On a Friday night, the line is out the door. The service is amazing from the owner( who the daughter of the original owner) down to all the assistance. They tried to get to know you even when they are crazy busy. One thing I would like to see would be a gluten-free meal but otherwise Amazing.

Keep up the great work.

I have been going to this little gem for years now. The owners are all family, and it shows. From either phoning an order in or just walking in they will remember who you are and treat you like one of their own.

The homemade secret recipe batter is the best in the city!! It is always crisp, hot, and oh so yummy. Their fries are also home cut and fresh. If you want a good feed of fish and chips this is the place to go, don't bother with the other " chain" restaurants you won't get better than Kipps Lane.

They have won many awards and while you are waiting glance at the start of this great little place with all the articles on the wall.

If you want Friday night fish you need to order early and be prepared for them to say it will be a bit of a wait as I feel everyone in the city goes there on a Friday. It is well worth the wait.

Take a chance and go to this little plaza and Find them you won't be disappointed!

Placed an order for take out
Talk about rip off city
Two pieces of grease the grease was pooled in the rake out container no flavour and to top it off was raw undercooked
Fries under a heat lamp not fresh cooked also no flavour
Cole slaw days past it's prime
Roll came from a plastic tray with unsalted butter
Take out order no salt or pepper
Ketchup no utensils
No napkin
$28 for food that ended up in the garbage
Could have had steak for this price
Unsure how restaurants can serve inedible food
Definitely won't be back
Irenes on Wellington save almost half your money
And I want Canadian fish
Not Alaskan
Lake Erie is only 90 minutes away
Can go for fish and chips for two people and a beverage for the price of this lousy example of fish and chips
You should be ashamed serving undercooked buckets of fat
Try fresh made in London Bread not plastic packaged
Told owner this review was getting written he didn't care
Sad my experience was much worse than expected

We were surprised at how small this place is, about 4 tables for dining in. Seems like it is mostly take out, but we ate in and were amazed at how busy the place was while we were there. Obviously there are regulars because the staff called a lot of the people picking up by their first names. Everything here is home made and very fresh. We ordered two halibut and fries and that included a dinner roll and coleslaw. Amazingly fresh, tasty and flavorable. We both agreed that it was probably one of the best fish and chips we have ever eaten. We'll be back, wish it was closer as we live in the west of London. Worth the trip~~~~

If you want fish and chips with that small corner store atmosphere, this is it.
One of those "we're not big, but we're small" places.
Has about 6 tables if you want to eat in.
Most seems to be take out.
Always heard about this place and decided to check it out. Should not do on Ash Wednesday. Place was hopping. Did not call ahead. A good idea anytime.
Took about 50 minutes to get my order but not their fault. It was very busy.
I just laid back and enjoyed the atmosphere of so many regulars, known by name to the staff.
They were going as fast as possible. Quite the operation.
Jackie (sorry for spelling) was great. She kept on top of the orders , cooking the fish and chips and always a smile and nice greeting to all. Worth the time spent waiting just to watch her and the staff work. I want to know what energy pill she is on. I got tired watching her work. A real customer first place. Will be back but maybe eat in next time, as we live in the west end.
As to wheel chair access, it is a small place and the railing makes it tight but I know they would be happy to help out.
