“Excellent!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012

Awesome, homemade goodies in a relaxed, warm atmosphere- what more could you want! Pumpkin Spiced Latte was to die for, they even decorate with a little leaf on the top. Scone with local jam are the best I have ever tasted.Take some time to walk through Wortley village and check out the local shops.

“Lovely cafe”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 30, 2012

My husband and I stumbled upon the Black Walnut Bakery Cafe yesterday and stopped for lunch. The staff were friendly, charming and helpful, the ambience was very nice; simple, warm and cozy. The coffee was excellent as was the frittata. The blueberry bran muffin was the best I have ever had! If I lived in London I would be a regular.

“Quaint Decor”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2012

Stopped in during an afternoon walk. Lovely decor and very inviting atmosphere unfortunately I was not impressed with my purchases.A slice of Lemon pound cake which tasted similar to one I purchased at a local grocery store. The slice of banana bread I bought home was burned on the bottom and dry. Overall not a great tasting experience.
Considering the reviews I was disappointed.

“quaint”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 26, 2012

I love coming here, but rarely get the opportunity. The kids are not the best "ammenity" given the location on a busy corner, but girlfriends and I like coffee and sweets when we are kid-free! I love that you can eat in or out, and the coffee is delicious. Service is friendly and accomodating. I have noticed a nearby coffee shop which has it's tables all over the sidewalk and am pleased to see the Walnut did not follow suit and chose to be reasonable for the sake of accessiblity in the Village (thank you!) The butter tarts are to die for! (kids like me to bring home cookies or cupcakes!)

“Favourite lunch Spot”

The food here is homemade and delicious. Simple fare such as quiche and soup. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. Just the place for a dine and dash...the atmosphere is not for lingering...
