Located in an obscure treed location on a hill on the extended campus of Western University is the Windermere Cafe. Situated in the same area is the Windermere Manor and boutique hotel.
The menu had a terrific cross section of food items including fish, chicken and my favourite a medium rare flat iron steak preceded by a tasty caesar salad. Deserts such as the sour cherry with a cake pastry and ice cream was smooth and flavourful. With any of the menu items one must also have the house special beer namely Honey Stung Ale. The honey is produced by the restaurants own apiary, visible from the eatery, and a local craft brewery blends the nectar into a unique tasting special brew.
With either family or friends, in our case it as the latter this time, the Windermere is a great
place to relax and socialize in a quiet and casual setting.
