First room I checked in to had a very noisy neighbour. I was moved without issue, but the second room was very smoky. It was already late so I made the best of it.
But most irritating was my experience around the vending machines (there is no water bottles etc in rooms themselves!). I put in a $20 bill which the machine promptly took and returned nothing. The front desk informed me that I would have to contact pepsi-cola directly for any refund.
They were very eager to give me this number to offload responsibility.
If you are putting up the vending machine in your hotel you should take some responsibility for it, if only for customer relations.More
