Our family stayed at Anchors Away for a long weekend and everything was awesome. The house was clean, beautiful, and had everything we needed. We would highly recommend it to anyone.
Stayed here for three nights at the end of the summer. It's a great base to explore the area. Richard is a great host, very knowledgable about the area and gave us some good tips. The accommodations are very clean and comfortable. Great experience all around!
Anchors Away is a lovely homey place - complete with a friendly black cat (Salem) as well as hospital host, Richard. Many restaurants and shops nearby; located near Pt. Pelee National Park complete with Board Walk; canoes to rent/paddle thro the marsh area; delighted to see a Woodstork (native to Florida) swept of course by high winds; lovely beach area - we watched the meteor showers; saw some monarch butterflies (gather there before migrating South); ice cream & souvenir shops; also within touring range of bird sanctuary in Kingsville, local wineries, river walk along Detroit River, etc. Only regret - would have loved to have spent a few more days enjoying the ambience of Anchors Away.
Anchors Away is minutes from the quiet and tranquil settings of Point Pelee and the Leamington Marina. This destination also features its own peaceful settings with privacy and full living accommodations. The rooms are very comfortable and the living space and kitchen area are well stocked with everything you need to enjoy a weekend away. The property owner on site is also very accommodating to serving the needs of his guests and answer questions.
We really enjoyed our eight nights at Anchors Away. It is a well kept, spacious clean and quiet, equipped with everything one needs, including use of bbq. The owner, Richard is very friendly and helpful with tips about the area. It was also nice to be greeted with some wine and chocolates upon our arrival. There is a view of the lake just across the street and a nice restaurant a block away with a patio to overlook the beauty of the lake. Anchors Away is located in a lovely, safe, residential area and is a very peaceful place to stay, close to places of interest. We had a wonderful time away and would highly recommend staying there.

The home had everything you can think of (and wouldn't). They provided essentials like toilet paper, shampoo, and even cups for your toothbrush.
I also opened my night table drawer to find a pack of earplugs which was a nice touch.
The sunroom was a common shared area which I don't think I saw mentioned in the listing so thought I would mention it. This was where the cat stayed for the most part (not upstairs where guests are). My son enjoyed petting him and was often looking for him throughout our stay. My husbands allergies were not bothered by Salem (Yay!) but he stayed upstairs just to be safe.
Richard and Krista were very helpful and friendly hosts. I really appreciated that they offered alot of flexibility with check-in and out timing as we were travelling with a 5 month old.
Home also had a nice view from kitchen overlooking big yard and golf course behind and some lake views from front yard and was within easy biking distance of Point Pelee National Park.
